2020 Pandemic Quarantine: How My Life Has NOT Changed
**
Over the last few months our world as we know it has changed. No more dining out at restaurants. No shopping our favorite retail stores. No school for children and college students. No more salon visits for haircuts or manicures. No more big attendance venue events (sports, concerts). No hanging out after work (because there is no work at the office) at a local pub or hangout. No Easter gathering, birthday parties or visiting family.
**

**
People are doing their best to celebrate life's milestones, continuing with a normacy of life and learning how to cope with being _cooped up_.
**

**
Our youngest granddaughter's _drive-by_ second birthday parade back in mid-April. One of the three times we left our home and property during our nine week shelter-in-place order.
**

My husband sees people on Facebook posting about wanting to leave their homes, visit with friends and have dinner again or even attend a recent graduates' open house to celebrate their momentous day. Some people are protesting here at our state's capital to _open up our state_. They are tired of being quarantined. Getting restless about _missing out_ on life outside their dreary four walls. They are getting fidgety and want to go back to work. They are becoming anxious to get back out in the world.

I only went to the grocery store or pharmacy three times since March 23; which was actually less than I would have gone pre-pandemic. I usually went to the store once per week, but during this time I've limited it to once every three weeks on average. _Now that's what I'm talking about!_

## Me? ##

My life hasn't changed much at all. Over the last nine weeks (we still have another week to go with our _shelter-in-place_ order with our governor announcing yesterday it may be extended even more) I have been in my glory. For a few reasons too.

1. I don't like to leave my home. So for the governor to tell us we should and it is recommended that we stay home, I have no problem listening and _abiding_ to that executive order. Crowds, people and too much noise is more than my auto-immune disease can tolerate. I prefer my home; puttering around the cannabis grow room, cleaning the house and preparing my garden for this season.
2. Mr Golden D had a much needed respite (two months) from working 7 days a week (racking up about 70 hours per week) since last autumn. We enjoyed the _down time_ together, did some chores that needed to get done and had the chance to watch some amazing TV shows.
3. Life was slower. Anxiety levels were low. I felt at peace.

## Growing My Seed Inventory For Online Sales ##
**For the last two years I have been selling seeds on Etsy and Ebay and this one (wild lettuce seeds) has been by far my biggest seller.**

I was able to list more items on Ebay and Etsy. I was able to organize my seed stash. I was able to replenish the seeds that are up for sale that I had been storing in containers.

**
Five of my wild lettuce plants outside right now for future seed sales after being harvested later this summer. From each plant (I have nine of them growing in the front herb garden beds) I can get about 500-600 seeds.
**

Yeah, my life is pretty similar to 'before'. I only go to the store every two weeks and am really aware of social distancing and the possibility of getting or spreading the virus.

Biggest change? I've gone back to hand writing my grocery list :) I have a really well trained phone app that I love but I can't use it with gloves on...

I've actually fixed my roof (I hope) 'stopping the holes where the rain gets in'. Both my motorcycles are on the physically unable to perform list and I have to decide which one to throw my limited funds at. But I hope to get back to riding when civilization is ready. Maybe fall?

Thanks for a great recap of your life and times.

Oh I refuse to even touch my phone when I do venture out. True it's tricky to use with gloves on, but I just leave in my purse to begin with.

We painted the two entry doors that needed a fresh look and rearranged our two extra bedrooms where I have my canning supplies, cannabis grows and gardening supplies.
We even _drug_ everything out of the 12x12 shed and cleaned it out. Spring cleaning at its finest!

Oh jeeze. Don't remind me :) I have a shed cleaning project which means I actually have TWO shed cleaning projects so I can move stuff from one to the other and appear to have actually done something. Reminds me, I have a set of wheels and tires in one shed that would fit your pickup. Interested? 😂

I really love the shopping list app. I have it organized to fit my normal store and I can add to it at any time so when I think of something I just add it immediately. I hate having to go back... But it's really not usable with gloves. AND I DO WEAR GLOVES.

I am with you @bigtom13 and @goldendawne. Not much has changed for me either. I am a homebody and enjoy just hanging with the family. The only thing that was a pain wasn't being able to go to the local hardware stores when I wanted to.

I guess there are more homebodies than I had imagined!
I prefer my home... my gardens... my projects... _puttering_ around here.
If I could get groceries (well, mainly prescriptions) delivered to our door... trust me, I would.

Happy to see that there are others who prefer to stay home. Thanks for sharing what your life has been during the lockdown. For the last two years we had been leaving the compound once a month. Now it is even less due to the situation here. Covid-19 runs rampant here. I didn't like crowds before so nothing much has changed in that respect. I can find lots to do in a day so it is never boring...

I seldom leave the farm, so life has not really changed for me here either. It is weird to have people come for eggs and have to stay inside while they pick them up off the porch. Used to be we chatted about the chickens or the farm or life... But other than that, life goes on....

@goldendawne I'm happy for you that you got time to spend with Mr. D and that he has had more downtime! (':
While I can't see my fiance, my pace of life has slowed down and I have been able to get much needed rest. Got more time to read and write, which is good (:
Happy staying at home! <3

I think it's fantastic that you're able to really look at the positive side to it all. My boys are all home-bodies, too, and really enjoy the opportunity to not need to get up first thing in the morning.

It's great to hear that you're able to take the time to relax. Slowing down is not something this society seems to be good at anymore (myself included). Great to see!
