###### When a person is faced with a problem, there are various possible reactions that can be displayed. The first possibility is to decide not to think about, let alone act on the problem. Usually with the hope that the problem goes away by itself or the person concerned becomes accustomed to the problem. The second possibility is to display emotional reactions, such as crying, anger, or damage. The third possibility is to immediately take action that is felt to eliminate the problem. For the latter, it can be exemplified as such: while we are writing, our pencils are broken, then we will immediately drag the pencil. However, sometimes the resolution of a problem, it turns out, is temporary, because in fact we only react to the end of the problem. Often we are faced with problems that can only be overcome if we understand and do something about the root or source of the problem. Thus, this type of problem demands a more basic solution.
> ###### Speaking of basic problem solving, we must also talk about the gap between actual conditions that have contributed to the creation of problems, and ideal conditions. Basic problem solving means removing the gap between the two types of conditions. That is, make changes in certain sectors of life, so that ideal conditions are created.
###### Furthermore, the complexity of society continues to increase, while the interdependence between humans, between humans and groups, and between humans and various sectors of life, makes it increasingly difficult for an individual to work alone to drive change. By grouping or meeting, then building cooperation, the opportunity to cause or stimulate change will be greater. Movement for change in society, which is pursued by the community itself and directed at achieving ideal conditions for the community concerned - whether it is in the social, economic, health, settlement or other sectors - known as Community Development.
**Community Development**
###### *Based on an understanding of development and community words, community development can be understood simply as:*
###### a group of people who inhabit a locality, take the initiative to jointly carry out a social action process to change their economic, social, cultural and / or environmental situation.

###### Community development has three dimensions, namely: values, processes, and stakeholders. The value dimension includes three components, namely:
* *Democratic participation and collaboration.*
* *Equitable justice.*

**Community Development Themes**
###### Many Community Development journals cover three major themes, namely self-help, technical assistance, and conflict. The essence of self-help is to stimulate community awareness of their own ability to help themselves. The basic theme of relations between facilitators and communities is equal partners. Technical assistance emphasizes more on the technical guidance process in achieving the stated objectives. The basic theme of the relationship between consultants and the community is expertise and clients, so it refers to the expertise of consultants. The theme of the conflict is to sharpen the differences between groups in a particular issue. Parties who are in a "loss" position will fight for their rights through a process that stretches from negotiation to conflict.
