Hello everyone!  Welcome to my blog 
I would like like to share my journey through jobs, pains and peace.

After i graduated from the University, I got a Job as a Quantity Surveyor at the same firm i did my  6 months Industrial Training . It was a consulting Quantity Surveying firm .

I loved and enjoyed practicing, despite the fact that it is a Male domineering profession. Life was great and going well..then i resigned because i intended to relocate abroad with my Ex...but sadly it didn't turn out as planned. 

I couldn't back to my job. I was too embarrassed abd ashamed . I am someone who has always had a thing for fashion, so i decided to enroll in a reputable fashion school called Zaris Fashion Academy. I had the best of time at the school. I made friends and met talented and creative people. It was one of the most memorable period of my life.

My set was one of the best and we all had similar goals and objectives,so we decided to work collectively and open a Fashion brand - I am very good at Pattern Drafting ( and two other ladies), One had a good eye for colors and fabric , one loves sewing and two are great fashion illustrator and one is an organized mother hen.

Well- the whole idea died a natural death, because most of them changed their mind. They wanted to go Solo, Which i respect.. Imagine what an amazing brand we would have been!

I went ahead to start my own fashion brand. I worked so hard and ran the brand for two years. It was doing great but i had one challenge - getting capable hands to work with me as a team. It became so tedious due to the fact that i was doing everything all alone - i was sleep deprived working round the clock. Then  i started having excruciating back pain. The pain became unbearable, i had to stop.

Once again, i started a new business on social media web2 - Firewood Smoked Guinea Fowls- trust me, it was one of the best in town. It picked up fast but I started getting anxious, when some messages i received are from men sending disturbing proposition. I started dreading opening my inbox.i wasn't detered. I forged on..

Aside that, delivery also became an issue. Riders will pick up in the morning and deliver to the customer late, sometimes at night. I was always worried the smoked fowl will spoil.. Some customers will even request for a refund..then one day, i started coughing non stop for two months. My business was on hold during this period and doctor warned me to stay away from firewood smoke.

I entrusted a staff to handle it but the outcome was not good. Customers complained about the taste . It really hurt and that was the end of the business. I had to choose my health over it.

I still didn't give up. I signed up for practical realistic cake decorative class. It felt like a safe haven.i was working from home..I made creative cakes and people loved it...but inflation hit so hard in my country. Ingredients became four times expensive..the demand for realistic and creative cakes reduced drastically. The income i got from it could no longer sustain nor pay my bills. It was so hard to stop because i truly loved and enjoy it..it didn't feel like work but hobby.

Then an idea came to me- i thought i should open a physical store and start selling baking tools and ingredients but my aunt suggested i start plastic wares and household items instead . I didn't like the idea but she asked me to try and if it doesn't work, i could switch.

I was skeptical when i started the business. I was scared of failing . But to my surprise, it turned out to be one of the best decision I have ever taken in my life.

I finally found my identity, peace and growth . I always look forward to opening with joy and excitement.

Now, i have a big dream to expand and experience the joy of seeing this business grow. Based on my experience, i can assure anyone reading this, that it is ok to start all over again. A set back or failure should not make you quit. You will eventually find your purpose.

I would like to start baking from the scratch tutorial series for beginners and hobby bakers on #Hive Blockchain. Hopefully, they can learn one or two things from there.

I hope this encourages someone here. Don't quit.. there is always light at the end of the funnel.
