## I was playing around with some
<div class="pull-right">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/grapthar/Eo6J2UWAKRpaLQ8cGkmga75ffCYjK5PyqVCNHsMuckXQqjPhzcPo14iGa34EtHuCe9i.png<center><b>Tracks 1 and 2, Main Idea</b></center></div><div class="text-justify">stuff last night, but didn't really like any of the ideas, so I figured I'd set a timer, pick a key, and see what happens. I decided to go with A minor, and immediately dropped in some ROLI studio players into a few tracks, then went through and chose some instruments. I started with the bass, in Track 1, which just does octave jumps on our chords' roots. The basic progression is A-, A-, G, A- then D-, A-, C, and F. There are some variations on that towards the end (in Pink and Blue), with one or two chords altered for each of the two 4 chord sections. Track 2 wound up doubling the progression of Track 2, but, with the effects added, got bumped up a few octaves. I also added a pretty heavy gate on Track 2, sidechained to the bass in Track 1, so it sort of glitches in and out with that rhythms of Track 1.</div>

## Track 3 is another ROLI instrument, specifically the
<div class="pull-left">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/grapthar/23tGvsQY31H5KyPsa3m8x9wCM2D5FwYhCRmi5msj1uFziznZmY5RSUHNVswXTAWSNAkAx.png<center><b>Track 5, Plucky Synth w/ Glitchy Sample & Hold Effect</b></center></div><div class="text-justify">'Happy Meal' keyboard, which I've used in a few other tunes before. This basically just outlines the chord progression with triads, though I did alter the first chord of each 4 chord section to have a little extra accent. Track 4 was recorded from another ROLI synth, which provides the swells on every 1st and 3rd bar. Finally, we have Track 5, which is sort of a melody line, and plays the line pictured to the left. It was a plucky synth sound, but when I pumped up the sample & hold effect, I got a really glitchy weirdness. I was going to spend more time editing it, as sometimes the release is really long, and other times, it just cuts off, but I was basically out of time at this point. I have been using these ROLI synths a lot, so I think I'm going to try and get obsessed with something else, at least temporarily.</div>
