## I've recently been getting into

While I had known of him, I never really checked out his music until seeing him on Tim Heidecker's <i>Office Hours</i> podcast.  Vile first garnered attention in the alt./indie rock world as the lead guitarist and one of the founding members of <b>the War on Drugs</b>.  Vile stayed with the group until 2008/2009, when he decided he wanted to focus on his solo career, as his debut full length had come out in 2008.  He had released quite a few EPs up to that point, and in the years since, has released 8 more albums.  Vile's older music is very lo-fi, psych oriented, which I definitely enjoy.  However, over the years, his songwriting and production has become more layered and intricate, which is equally interesting, in different ways.  Today's song is from his most recent album, <i>(watch my moves)</i>, which was released on the 15th of last month.  I've had this on a pretty constant rotation, finding it to be one of those great 'cruising' albums, whenever I'm in the car.  I love the laidback quality to all of it, with folky instrumentation mixed with synthesizers and electric guitars, and Vile's signature voice.</div>
