## This little idea came together
<div class="pull-right">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/grapthar/mNrpt3J2-Screen20Shot202020-08-0920at209.52.3320PM.png<center><b>Strobe2 UI</b></center></div><div class="text-justify">last night a bit randomly; I was just playing around with an Arturia Synth demo, specifically the Modular V3.  It is used in Track 6, which provides an arpeggiated synth which just plays the root notes of our chord progressions, which is divided into 2 sections, one playing C# (we're in C#minor), down to B, and up to E.  The second section starts on A, up to E, down to B, and A again, before returning to the first section, which plays 2x through.  Tracks 2 and 3 provide the drums, with the snares/hihats in Track 2 effected with the '8bit Shaper' effect, which adds a bit-crushy sort of thing to it, though I turned the wet down on the effect quite a bit, so it just adds a nice little crunch to allow these hits to cut through.</div>

## We also have two bass parts, one of which came about

Synth Chords</b></center></div><div class="text-justify">kind of last minute.  Track 5 was initially the only bass part.  It uses a little quintuplet line at the beginning of every other measure, though the notes sort of blend together, which made for a cool effect.  I also wound up adding Track 13, which adds an 808-esque bass part, which has a few little fills that provide some cool melodic movement.  Track 7 uses an arp. synth from Strobe2, which only comes in on short little upbeats at the beginning of measures, just to add another texture to the mix.  Track 8 provides ascending arpeggios, which are divided into 2 notes per measure, adding another texture which outlines the chord changes.</div>

## Track 9 isn't used much,
<div class="text-justify">just playing a single C# at the start of each section.  Track 10 also uses an arpeggiated synth, playing the progression pictured above, which adds some nice, twinky little lines throughout.  Track 11 sort of fills in Track 8 at a single point, adding a little line in C# Dorian, which gives an interesting tension.  I'm not sure if it really fits with everything around it, but its a cool little moment.  The final instrument is Track 12, which is pictured below.  This was another last minute experiment, trying to add a sort of continuous melody line, though I don't particularly love the result.  The last thing to mention is the change that the middle of the song has; all of the instruments grouped together have a gate on them, which is triggered by the snares and hi-hats in Track 2.  This creates a cool, choppy, dancey vibe, which I think turned out to be pretty interesting.</div>

## Hope you like this idea!  I think this is one I'd like to spend some real time working on; it's a little cluttered at points, but there are some ideas I really like, so we'll see what happens!
