## This wasn't initially much of anything

The main part is built around a progression with a bunch of minor chords: Amin for 4 bars, Dmin, Emin and Cmin (the Cmin is a cool dark sound, and helps us modulate in the B section), and the second time around Amin (4 bars), Dmin, E7. There are some middle parts where we change keys, starting on a Cmin7, Gmin6, A7. The A7 acts like the V chord, and we change keys to Dmin temporarily. This happens again the second time around, though we stay in Dmin longer, and then repeat the A part, but entirely in Dmin instead of Amin. I tried to use a bunch of instruments/packs, strings (from Albion, Spitfire BBC Orchestra, and the Spitfire Quartet included with Live 11), horns (same sets as the strings), some woodwinds, and percussion sounds. I haven't really mixed things much, but I did start messing around with compressors and Soothe2 to try and blend some parts, as well as remove some muddiness and get things to feel overall more interesting. Soothe2 is really helpful, as the sidechain works like a compressor, except it just helps clear out very specific frequencies for other instruments to fit in rather than the full sound being compressed. I also didn't do anything for 'realism', automating expression, dynamics, etc., so I'll mess with that next. This isn't really intended to be a finished song, though it might wind up that way, I just want to explore these sounds and ways to get them to sound better generally.</div>
