## I don't have anything new to share	
<div class="text-justify">today so I figured a throwback tune is in order.  I'm going WAY back, long before I knew anything about recording or DAWs, to this song, which was a thing I had written after playing guitar for maybe a year/year and a half.  At the time, I had Kazaa, and downloaded a pirated copy of Fruity Loops.  I knew nothing about it really, and didn't have any tutorials, so I would just try and wing it and figure things out.  I would make drum parts for songs (as I didn't have any drummer friends at the time), some of which were supposed to 'imitate' acoustic drums (I didn't do a great job at that, haha), though I also made some more electronic things.  I would export these and burn them to a CD, then import the audio on a laptop with Garageband, and record guitar and bass over the drum loops.  My laptop had an 1/8th inch input, so I would run the headphone-out from my amp into it, haha.  This song is sort of just a compilation of riffs, which vary by BPM so I couldn't record with a click (I didn't know how to change the BPM in a single tune), and I hadn't been playing that long anyway, so some of the riffs are pretty rough here.  But, I still enjoy going back and revisiting these things; it's fun to think about how little I understood any of this stuff, and how much extra work I gave myself through my convoluted process of making drums.  The song also reminds me of my early high school years too, friends, classes, etc., so it's a fun bit of nostalgia too.</div>
