We all have this great admiration for people of great accomplishments. And it's not surprising to see people wishing that they could achieve the same results. Even we ourselves, sometimes want to make a great mark in this world. So that young ones to come, will hear songs of our names. It's a beautiful imagination, but an entirely difficult thing to turn into reality.

If you're told of the amount of time, these people we so much admire put into their work, we'll be completely mesmerized. They put in endless hours of awfully hectic work in other to craft themselves into that iconic person you see. But the beauty of it at the end of the day is that, we too can achieve great things if we follow in that same path.

There's something that happens in the brain when you practice something repeatedly. The neurons start to fire themselves more fluidly. When you're trying to learn a skill and you keep practicing that skill, one neuron in your brain fires up another, every time you do this. At first, it's not so easy to fire the other. But over a period of time they start firing easily.

In the beginning of learning a new skill. We do everything very consciously. Assuming you wanted to learn how to ride a bicycle for example, when beginning your learning, your mind is attentive to every single step you make. Your consciousness is really put into it. And yet, we most likely fail at first.

But when we keep up the process and keep on learning, we don't fail so much anymore. But even at this point, we do everything very consciously, our mind is very focused on not failing, hence we tend to succeed in what we're doing. But when we keep up this practice and do it intensely, we get to a point where we perform this skill excellently, and yet we focus very little of our consciousness to it. It's like we're doing it automatically.

That's the intense level of practice that the greats we look up to, put into their works. They practice night and day, rigorously searching for ways to better themselves in that skill. If you go about that skill you want to become excellent at, with such intensity, there's very high hope that you'll attain that level of admirable success you desire. What it really takes is unrelenting practice. And it's all up to you.
