Warsaw was not part of the Kingdom of Poland at all.

<h3><i>Warsaw is a special place for every Pole - mainly because it is the capital of our country! But this city is also associated with the memory of many events, very important for our homeland. So it is not surprising that many people are moved with thoughts about the streets and alleys of this metropolis.</i></h3>

<h3><i>In the first centuries of Poland's existence, the capital was first served by Gniezno and then by Krakow. The capital in that era was simply the seat of the monarch - and the king could change the city in which he lived. Zygmunt III Waza moved to Warsaw. He was the ruler of Poland, who was also heir to the kingdom of Sweden - he tried to regain the crown of his ancestors, which he was taken away from. To be closer to Sweden, the king decided to live in Warsaw - from that time, this city became our capital. It is surprising that only a few decades earlier Warsaw was not part of the Kingdom of Poland at all! She belonged to the Masovian dukes, who died out in the 16th century and only later joined her to our country.</i></h3>

Very beautiful monuments! Warsaw was certainly packed full of history! 
So, people in the old days had connection with the Vikings!!  No wonder they are such brave warriors.
