U.S. presidential candidate Andrew Young is going to integrate blockchain into the voting process in 2020.

On his website, Yang writes, "It's ridiculous that in 2020, we'll still have to wait in line for hours to vote in outdated polling booths.

Yang says there is already a full technical capability to implement a fraud-proof voting process using mobile phones.

"In this way, we can transform true democracy and increase participation in elections to attract all Americans. Those who don't have a smartphone can use the old system - the queues will be much shorter," he says.

At the same time, experts from the Technology Review journal of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology note that the use of blockchain in voting does not reduce, but, on the contrary, increases the risks of cybersecurity. In particular, their doubts are related to the protection of Internet-connected devices and the possibility of creating an "online system that will preserve all the attributes that we expect in democratic elections.

Earlier, Yang promised to streamline the regulation of the cryptocurrency market if he is elected president of the United States.
