Today I went to a place where I saw several hornets of nests. Their nests of wasps are made in dry and warm places. In this case, these are old communication boxes. These formidable predators make their honeycombs from a material similar to paper and in each cell grow a wasp larva. They have to constantly bring young larvae food. Wasps are constantly on the alert and guard their nest.

Interesting photos, although I think I would have gotten the longest telephoto possible... You must have had to get very close! Unlike bees, hornets do not die when they sting and are much less restrained in doing so. Nice photos!
