For this prompt, explore the layered meaning of **a joke**. One told, overheard, or remembered. * **Who told it and why?** Was it meant to lighten the mood, hide the truth, wound, or win affection? * **What was the punchline?** Was it funny, cruel, revealing? Did it land? or fall flat? * **How did it feel?** Were you laughing? Or pretending to? * **What was hidden behind it?** An emotion unspoken? A reality no one wanted to face? > **Bonus challenge:** Write the entire piece without directly stating whether the joke was funny or not.
