The summer holiday draw to a close, the students soon to be returning to their desks. A last day out with my youngest two grandchildren.  The British Ironworks Centre at Oswestry is a free to enter outdoor experience, open to us the public Wed-Sat. Thankfully, although it became overcast, the weather was dry, I do not think I would visit in the rain!!    This is art, modern industrial engineering art at its finest.    It would be rude to say, its a couple of massive fields with big lumps of scrap metal in    But yes it is just scrap metal! But admire the skill of the engineer and the welder for a moment.  Though alas, sometimes instagram or whatever, is more appealing to teenagers!!!!!!      There are two eating and drinking places, though I thought quite expensive £6.50p for a small bottle of water 2 small cans of pepsi and an ice lolly. The inner watering hole is in a wacky building, where everything is for sale       The skill to make this spidey man, is unquestionable, its so realistic, and what about transformers and cyborgs?   there is a serious side to the venue as well, attemting to attract youth ambassadors to help in the community, engaging the youth of today to emphasise that violence is not the answer  **The Knife Angel**  This is not a permanent exhibit, it travels the country to various venues to promote the anti-knife, anti-youth crime messages, luckily for us it wasn't moving until early September.   The figure is made from over 100,000, seized knives and blades. How many lives, or life changing injuries has this Angel prevented?
