Balancing Between Curating, Replying, and Blogging - The Zen of Steemit

<h1>How Should One Balance Their Time Between Curating, Replying, and Blogging?</h1>
<p>The question comes up if I should curate, blog, or reply more. I believe it is important for everyone to contribute plenty of curating time in addition to just blogging time.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;It is very hard to know whether the community will like your blog posts or not so if you balance your time across blogging, curating and replying &nbsp;you have a better chance of getting Steem rewards.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Curating Time</h2>
<p>Your curating time is very important as this is what the whole Steemit ecosystem depends on. We all want our post to go to the top but if we are not all doing our curating job then how are we supposed to really create the movement we are looking for.</p>
<p>If we all start doing more curating then more Steem will be rewarded across more blogs and more users.</p>
<h2>Replying Time</h2>
<p>Taking the time to reply to peoples blog posts is equally as important since it builds additional momentum and is really the only true form of interaction. Replying helps the community see what other people are thinking and then in so doing builds a status quo among us all.</p>
<p>With replies that the community appreciates come attention to the subject at hand and in so doing brings more awareness to the different perspectives that exist. We as a community are all learning and growing together and this is why the replies are so important. Plus I see replies getting good Steem rewards.</p>
<h2>Blogging Time</h2>
<p>The holy grail of Steemit is the blog as we all know this is where you can hit the big money. However easier said then done and that is why this does deserve more time then the rest. Let's face it, we have all been there when we have had that great idea about what to blog about. Ah that's a great idea. Now let's try and put it in writing and this is where the challenge comes in.</p>
<p>Curating and replying helps your blogging since you are taking the time to see what has worked for other people and then can incorporate it into your own blog. Make a list of some good blogs that you found that were voted up high and keep them as examples to look at when you find yourself stuck. &nbsp;</p>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>As we can see, blogging, curating, and replying are all very important to the overall success of a blogger in the Steemit community. We all depend on other members of the community to visit our blog post and vote and reply for us to be successful. When everyone actively participates in all three of these aspects the momentum at which the Steem is produced becomes faster. Let's all do our part and steem on steemers.&nbsp;</p>

The only thing is that digging good content when one does't have enough steem power gives  almost no return to the upvoter or the post owner in this system. I think the only way this works is that one has to be an early upvoter and hope that content explodes. 

This discouraged me for a while.  Also it takes some effort to go through so many worthless content to find something good. Still I think I will do the curating part even if that makes no difference. Blogging and replying will still be the priority.

I think you are right that as of right now there is an unfair balance to those who have been here in the very beginning and now hold a lot of steem power. This post is a good example with 26 votes at the time of this reply and only making $0.50 and then I will see other posts where less votes and the will have over $10 or even $100. So this is a frustrating point I think. However I do understand the idea of  peple who have been around longer may know better what is good content or not its just are they going to be Curating also enough.
