Ice sculptutre? No its Light

# Yesterday's walk through the forest did not show snow.

It is still relatively cold in Germany and I wish for some more snow. January and February are usually the best bet for snow near Berlin. It's not uncommon to only get 5 days of snow when it only looks great the first night. So I was super excited last year when we had a lot of snow coming down at once. I ran out and got some shots. Most of them I shared with you some time ago. Here is now the last shot from that night.

At first, whats happened here in the main shot?
What you see as the main featured shot is a 51s single exposure light painting, with the camera set to ISO 125 on the LAOWA 12mm Zero D F2.8 lens. This is one of these photos where I would pull out the yellow color for the most part. The Whitebalance would go wacky on my so it did not look like it would to my eyes. So here I would correct for that in Lightroom.

Like always before putting any fancy light sculptures in the forest I test the light and leave the forest as it is. Just as beautiful without me adding extras. Here is the forest untouched, just lit from the sides.

For years I wanted to do some Light Painting in the snow. It represents not only a challenge because everything reflects so nicely but the chance of getting some really cool shots was tickling under my nails. But for the last 6 years, it always snowed when I wasn't in Germany and also not in a country that had snow the time I was there. With the Corona Shitshow, I was put in place here in Berlin. And there was that snow. I ran out and started playing. So that's kind of a first for me. Good start I would say.

Mit der Corona Shitshow wurde ich hier in Berlin festgehalten. Und dann gabs Schnee. Ich rannte raus und fing an zu spielen so lange der Schnee gelegen hat. Super frisch. Also das ist für mich eine Premiere. Guter Anfang würde ich sagen.
