National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL): Microsoft Windows 10 is more respectful of user privacy and data now

<p>The French National Commission for Informatics and Freedoms (CNIL) issued a press release announcing that Microsoft Windows 10 now complies with all privacy laws in the country following changes made by the software company in the latest Creators Update.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>In a statement released yesterday, the agency said Microsoft had made several changes to make Windows 10 compatible with French laws.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>The agency claimed that Microsoft has reduced the amount of data it collects from users via Windows 10 by half, noting that now the necessary data are collected only for the system.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>Those who have installed the latest version of the updates will notice some changes as Microsoft now informs users of all the processes that will be done on their computers to collect data either for system development or for the development of advertising and commercial targeting, giving users greater powers to control the process.</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>The National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL) was one of the largest bodies to express concern about privacy violations on Windows 10 and the large amount of data that Microsoft collects from users, and even ordered the company to impose fines on them if It is subject to a set of laws that the Commission establishes in France.</p>
