Okay, this is what I actually felt when I read of the prompt today from @mariannewest - Running in Place and back to square one. My warning beforehand is this may sound like a ranting and venting post. 

My husband and son had gotten really ill for the past days since Monday. They had a really bad flu and it doesn't help that the weather was not that pleasant too. We attended a wedding last week in an enclosed space and I noticed a child wasn't too well. He was having fever, flu and cough. He sneezed every now and then and the mucus was flowing out like a waterfall. I have this paranoid syndrome in me that I wish I don't so I can be more relaxed on situations like this. I get all on guard whenever I notice a sick person around, espectially if it is a child who cannot take care of his or her personal hygiene yet. I get all tensed up and would be thinking how to protect my child and family as my mother instinct kicks in. 

In my book, I would prefer not even bringing the child into a public place because it spreads so easily since there are droplets, especially in an enclosed space. I did my best to separate my son and sanitizing his hands too. My friend tried to get the boy to wear a child facial mask but failed. I then saw when the boy's mucus overflew out, I went to grab the tissie box for his dad but before I could passed it to him, he wiped it off with his bare hands!!! Why did i even see that? That image kept staying in my mind.

It is also true that when someone is already having fever and fighting an infection, his or her immune system is battling, so exposing him or her to more people in the public may just drain the body immune system even more. If not for the sake of considering others, perhaps consider the sick child himself? Okay you may ask if I have talked this with his parents before, yes I did confront them before and fill them in with some necessary knowledge like fever and flu is contagious so it is best to stay home. However, I heard from another friend who confronted them this time that they have forgotten about that and said, "I don't think flu can spread so easily." That friend also got sick and went to the doctor, finally went back to the parent after confirming with the doctor that ANY TYPE OF FLU spreads. 

Anyway, I am sure you can tell I am pissed. At home, both my husband and son showed signs of recovering after I was diligently loading them with Vitamin C and also steamed onion juice with garlic. I remember my son waking up every half an hour in the night because of the blocked nose and kept on tossing around to find a good position. When I thought they were recovering, they went back to the same and got a little worse, coupled with a bit of fever and cough. Oh dear, that's why I feel like I was running in place. This is me in my frustration mode. I am telling myself not everyone practises what I do, I have to give in to their preferences as I cannot control their choices or decisions. I am trying my best to manage myself because I tend to become so not myself when my child is sick when I see him suffer almost the whole day and night. God help me! They are both better now today, thank God and my frustration level has greatly reduced. I wanted to write this post last night but I got too exhausted that I figured I just go to sleep.

Anyway to end it light, I watched this really funny video on Facebook which was a meme of when gym membership fees becomes more than what you can afford. There was this guy running on a bulldozer's chain. It was quite hilarious. I wish I could show you the post or video but I seem to not be able to locate it again.

I am sure you can tell I took extra minutes for today's freewrite because I just went on and on. So sorry for the vent.
