### Last month, my friends and I went to an awesome Chinese restaurant which is not in our area to have a farewell dinner for someone precious in our midst. It was a good 45-minute drive away from where I stay and it crossed over to another state in Malaysia called Pahang.
We went to Bentong and this special restaurant is situated by the river in a valley. It is called **Wonderland Valley** and this place is surrounded by nature. I love it soooo much because I realized how nature destressed me and calms me down. Hence I must post about this place in #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay!!!
It was an impromptu trip actually without much planning. At first I thought I just let the husband go alone with his friends but I heard that some families tagging along so I packed my another 2 to go with the husband. So glad we did.


Let me show you the place as I want to boast about the scenery. Hahaha a city person going into a suburbs for food, that was me! We needed to drive past a small bridge to enter this place which got me a bit wondering if the bridge could take the weight of our cars and the path was so narrow! This place even has a small market selling some of the famous produce of Bentong like their ginger. 

For dinner, we ordered some really delicious food such as Mountain Patin Fish steamed with ginger and also another dish was cooked in soy sauce. This was the highlight for the dinner because the staff who took our order highly recommended it as this patin fishes are those from the mountain water so she told us they are extra fresh. I think we ordered a 5kg worth of fish if I am not mistaken and it cost us rm500 just for the fish alone. It has to be the best fish I have eaten. It was so crazily fresh and tender and each of us could help ourselves to huge portions of it, wow. That was so satisfying!


 Aside from the fish, there was the pig's fallopian tube which I thought was the kidney. It was also unexpectedly good and tasty to which I had a few servings of, oops!

We also ordered Iberico ribs which was cooked really well too as well as some other vegetables and tofu dishes.  The French beans fried with roasted pork was also phenomenal. 

After dinner, we could not make a move to leave because it was raining. It made the whole place so cooling and we took time to just chit chat. It was such a relaxing time that I haven't felt for a long time. My boys went to check out their aquariums of fish which was not meant to be eaten. 

I like the simple ambience of this whole place and there is a river view to see if we sit on the higher level too. Nothing too fancy but what a good break away from the bustling city!
