<p>Kemarin malam waktu perjalanan pulang, saya melewati jalan raya utama penghubung kota Sidoarjo dan Surabaya. Pada saat itu saya berada di arah menuju kota Sidoarjo.</p>

<em>Last night on my way home, I passed the main highway connecting the cities of Sidoarjo and Surabaya. At that time I was heading towards the city of Sidoarjo.</em>


<p>Pada saat itu, cuaca agak gerimis dan jalanan sedang padat-padatnya dipenuhi kendaraan dari orang-orang yang  sedang melakukan perjalanan pulang. Nah, disaat itu saya sempat berhenti sebentar karena jalanan padat merayap sehingga saya menurunkan kaki saya untuk menopang motor saya.</p>

<em>At that time, the weather was a bit drizzling and the road was very crowded with vehicles from people who were on their way home. Well, at that time I had time to stop for a while because the road was crawling so I put my feet down to support my motorbike.</em>

<p>Pada saat lalu lintas sudah mulai agak lancar segera saya mulai tancap gas, dan kaki saya naikkan ke motor, tapi sayang sandal yang berada di sebelah kaki saya kanan saya terantuk karpet motor dan akhirnya jatuh.</p>

<p>Sandal saya pun jatuh tepat di jalanan yang sedang ramai-ramainya lalu lalang kendaraan yang sedang menuju perjalanan pulang. Saya pun berhenti untuk mengambil, tapi sayangnya motor dan mobil yang ada di jalanan tersebut enggan berhenti sehingga saya kesulitan untuk mengambil sandal saya.</p>

<em>My sandals fell right on the busy road where vehicles were heading home. I stopped to pick them up, but unfortunately the motorbikes and cars on the road were reluctant to stop so I had difficulty picking up my sandals.</em>

<p>Di tengah-tengah kebingungan saya ini, tiba-tiba muncul seorang pria dan tangangan kanannya sedang memegang tangkai pohon dan mengangkatnya ke atas untuk menggunakannya sebagai sinyal agar kendaraan yang ada untuk berhenti sejenak. Tindakan pria tersebut berhasil dan mobil dan motor yang ada di jalanan itu berhenti sejenak sehingga membuat saya bisa mengambil sandal saya yang jatuh tadi.</p>

<em>In the midst of my confusion, suddenly a man appeared and his right hand was holding a tree branch and lifting it up to use it as a signal for the vehicles to stop for a moment. The man's action was successful and the cars and motorbikes on the road stopped for a moment so that I could pick up my sandal that had fallen earlier.</em>

<p>Saya pun segera mengucapkan terima kasih pada pria itu dan ia membalasnya ucapan terima kasih saya dengan logat yang kental dari Indonesia bagian timur, dan ia sempat menanyakan kemana saya akan pergi dan saya jawab kalau saya sedang dalam perjalanan pulang. Ia sebenarnya ingin menumpang motor saya untuk menuju tempat yang ingin ia tuju sayangnya kami tidak sejalan. </p>

<em>I immediately thanked the man and he replied to my thanks with a thick accent from eastern Indonesia, and he asked me where I was going and I answered that I was on my way home. He actually wanted to hitch a ride on my motorbike to get to where he wanted to go, unfortunately we were not on the same road.</em>

<p>Ia pun tersenyum dan berjalan menuju ke sebuah warung yang sudah tutup di seberang rel kereta api. Terima kasih bapak sudah membantu saya, semoga kebaikan ini kelak akan diberikan berkah oleh Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa. (hpx)</p>
