I was driving this young lad, John to Lombard Street. On a usual ride, the rider would be listening to his songs and I would be enjoying the scenic beauty (well, mostly the traffic jams) of the streets of London. But, this wasn't a usual day afterall.

"Did you hear about this news?"

"Which news?"

"They are shutting down Uber from next month!!!"

"I've heard that many a times before. 
Black cabs would love to hear that. Maybe they have organized another protest or something for a day or two. 
But, that'll be all."

"No. ' *Transport For London*' tweeted that. They're not going to renew Uber's licence."

"But that's not fair!!! Why should I suffer? Because those black cabs did not evolve with time? I mean, what's my fault in this? It's not like I would not like the luxury a black cab drivers get, the ability to say NO. And not to forget, more money. Everyone knows how hard it is to pass this test for getting medallion. But, passing that does not give them privilege to look down on us. Moreover, being a non-british immigrant doesn't help when you need to pass that English test. I never wanted anything bad to happen for those medallions, I know that they have spends a lots of money to reach there. I understand their pain. But, will I be able to get that licence in a month? Or even in a year? Maybe I won't get it even after 10 years. "

"Oh! We already reached your destination. Have a great day! Have great weekends", greeted with a fake smile hoping for 5 stars and possibly some tip.

Then it struck me real hard. What will I do if I can't drive Uber from October? Where can I find the job? What options do I have? Forget about me, what options will all these Uber drivers will have? Why can't we coexist with the cabs? Why do we need to kill Uber or any other app for that matter? Why do we 40000 need to find something else to do for full-time, so those chosen ones can have their secure job back? I don't really know what to do. It's not like the market is really booming for jobs here anyway.

What do you think? Can you think of any job with decent earnings I can do.
