¿Alguna vez han tenido una idea y han dicho “eso se vería bien en una camisa”? Bueno, independientemente de su respuesta, justo eso me pasó a mi. Verán: Resident Evil es mi segunda saga de videojuegos favorita. Crecí con sus personajes y por eso les tengo tanto cariño. 

>Have you ever han an idea and said “That’d look cool on a t-shirt”? Well, regardless of your answer, that’s just what happened to me. You see: Resident Evil is my second favorite videogame series. I grew up with its characters and that’s why I like them so much.

En una escena del primer juego, Barry Burton salva a Jill Valentine, nuestra protagonista, de ser aplastada por el techo de una habitación que resultó ser una trampa. Luego de que ella le diera las gracias, Barry suelta una de las frases más famosas (o infames) y estúpidas (pero graciosa) del mundo de los videojuegos: “Casi acabas hecha un Jill Sandwich”.

After she thanked him, Barry blurts out one of the most famous (or infamous) and stupid (but hilarious) lines in the world of video games: "You almost end up like a Jill Sandwich”.

Yo no estaba vivo en 1996, que es cuando salió el juego, pero estoy bastante seguro de que los que lo probaron en su momento y hablaban inglés, se rieron bastante o sintieron vergüenza ajena.

>I wasn’t alive in 1996 when the game came out, but I'm pretty sure those who played it at the time and spoke English, laughed or cringed a lot.

Por alguna razón esa frase me hace recordar tiempos más simples; la asocio con una de mis sagas favoritas. Me impresiona como unos personajes ficticios son tan capaces de hacerse querer tanto como las personas reales que conocemos día a día.

>For some reason that phrase reminds me of simpler times; I associate it with one of my favorite videogames. It amazes me how fictional characters are as capable of making themselves loved as much as the real people we meet every day.

Quería tener algo que siempre me la recordara. “Wa dibujar un Jill Sandwich y lo imprimo en una camisa” me dije.

Fue literalmente el segundo dibujo que hice en digital, ahora tengo mejores trucos que me ayudan en el proceso a que las ilustraciones tengan un mejor acabado, solo pensé que estaría bien compartirla por aquí; sin embargo, aún me gusta y pienso tenerla en una camisa como ya dije.
