One of my favorite strategies in Splinterlands is to select a monster with the Taunt ability in the backline while using other monsters with high attack power to quickly eliminate my opponent's monsters since they will be safe for a while because they will not be targeted by attacks.

This battle is an example where both players use monsters with high attack power and I have to admit that it was not an easy battle since at some point in the battle I really thought I was going to lose.

My strategy starts with me using 2 monsters which are the Wave Brood and the Angelic Mandarin, both are a powerful combination because the Wave Brood will be the main target of the attacks because it has the Taunt ability and the Angelic Mandarin will be the support that will help it survive longer with its Triage ability.

- The ability Triage heals the monster in the backline that suffered the most damage by 1/3 of its maximum life.

With this combination of monsters, I gained a good advantage in the battle, but I didn't expect my opponent to use monsters with such terrifying attack power. So my Wave Brood survived for less than 2 rounds, which was a big loss for me. However, I also had monsters with terrifying attack power, so while the Wave Brood suffered most of the damage in the battle, I caused a lot of damage to my opponent's monsters, so it did its job well.

The second part of my strategy is to have a strong defense in the Frontline so that when the Wave Brood is defeated, I can defend myself well against my opponent's attacks so that my most vulnerable monsters wouldn't be quickly attacked. Unfortunately, this strategy wasn't very useful because most of my opponent's monsters had the ability Opportunity, so they targeted my monster with the lowest life, that is, my most vulnerable monster.

Even though my opponent had several monsters with the ability opportunity, I was lucky that my frontline monsters were the targets in the battle after the Wave Brood was defeated, so my strategy was still valid and the main star after the Wave Brood was the monster Giant Alpine Skink, he has a good defense because of his ability Shield and can also dodge magic attacks, this combination of abilities made him survive until the end of the battle and you can believe that if it weren't for him, my chances of winning this battle would be very low.

- The ability Shield reduces the damage received by melee and ranged attacks by half.

In the end the Giant Alpine Skink survived with only 1 life and after this battle I started to look at this monster in a different way and my wish now is to get him to the maximum level because he is very useful in battle.

I'm loving the current Soulbounds cards and I can't wait to get them to max level because then I won't need to rent as many cards to battle and that means less costs for my pocket and more profits.
