The others stars won't play with me** a dejected GlowLight asked his Dad **My son, in the world of stars we're powered by the wishes of humans who look up towards us** StarFire his dad replied **But what if they never look my way or wish for me to glow, there are billions of other stars out here** **Don't worry son, I was just as worried when I was younger but eventually I got noticed by a wonderful human who made me glow my brightest** StarFire replied **Really, I can't wait for my turn dad** an ecstatic GlowLight replied ### Somewhere on Earth Jeff drove into his son's school to pick him up and spotted the little boy almost immediately. This was his son's first day at a new school and the look on his face told Jeff everything he needed to know. Jeff quickly found a parking spot and went to meet his son. **Hey Buddy, high five** Jeff said as he raised his hands but Scott wasn't interested **What wrong Scott? How was your first day at this beautiful school?** he asked **Dad, please I don't want to go to this school anymore** replied Scott as he burst out crying Jeff was worried but decided not to show it on his face, instead he kept up a very convincing smile as he lifted Scott into his arms **And what could be the problem, my young Superman** he asked still smiling **No one wants to be my friend and even when I tried to play with them, they all ignored me** the sobbing Scott mumbled amidst tears. **Don't worry they'll soon find out how cool you are**  [Image Source](https://pixabay.com/fr/photos/étudiants-salle-de-classe-l-école-395568/) But Scott wasn't interested in anything his Dad was saying even when they got home and he refused to eat anything. Jeff knew he had to do something to cheer his son up so that night he took his son outside the back of their house where he already had a transparent tent with some food spread out in it. **What are we doing outside dad** **I just thought we should do something different tonight and your mum brought up this idea** Jeff replied They both entered the tent and after eating they laid down to watch the night sky. **It's a beautiful night Scott, look at all the beautiful stars up there** **Yes Dad they're all beautiful. But look at that one over there it's not glowing like the rest** said Scott as he pointed to a particular star. **That's true son, but why focus on that particular star when there are a billions of other ones** **But Dad, why can't they all glow together? Jeff thought for a few seconds and saw the wisdom in his son's words, but sensing Scott's words probably had to do with his experience from school. So he tactfully decided to take another approach **Look at it this way Scott. If it didn't look so dull you probably wouldn't have noticed it, so in a way it's unique compared to the others** Jeff finally said **I guess so Dad** Scott replied as he looked longingly at the star in the sky His thoughts were interrupted as he heard his mum calling out to him and his Dad to come in because it was already getting too late. Just as they headed back inside Scott's wish was that the Star would outshine all the others. Coincidentally the same thoughts were going through Jeff's mind. ### Meanwhile in the night sky **Daddd, Dad I think that human is looking at me** shouted GlowLight **Err son, let's not get too excited. The human probably just glanced over here** replied StarFire not wanting his son to get disappointed A while later an GlowLight excited screamed again **Dad look he's pointing at me now** **Wow, it seems so. Just at that moment the dull star suddenly gave out a bright light that outshone the others. Scott walked into the house with his head held high knowing tomorrow at school would be different.
