Que tal amigos de hive el dia de hoy el contenido se trata de los frenos de discos en las bicicletas, como algo tan sencillo se vuelve una pesadilla y claro como novato tuve que investigar mucho hasta conseguir la mejor manera de solucionar los problemas con los frenos para poder ayudar a un amigo con sus frenos de discos mecanicos!

Comenzamos nuevamente con la mecánica de bicicletas esta ocasión les enseño cual es el proceso para lograr que nuestros frenos de discos mecanicos! y aplica también para hidráulicos vuelvan a frenar!

Ocurre lo siguiente, en las bicicletas es muy común que estos discos y pastillas se contaminen demasiado y al igual que en carros y motos si las pastillas quedan mal montadas estas se van a desgastar de mala manera, su desgaste no será uniforme causando estos daños en las pastillas!.

Para llegar a quitar las pastillas de freno primero tenemos que desarmar la mordaza de frenos para lo cual nos tenemos que hacer de las siguientes llaves L, 5mm y 3mm para poder quitarla de su base y soltar también el soporte de dichas pastillas.

Una vez afuera nos quedara tal que asi en este caso por ser mecánicos podemos tener un poco mas de libertad con los calipers y moverlos a nuestra disposición sin dañar ningún componente!

Acá podemos ya ver el desgaste disparejo entre las pastillas donde claramente se ve una mas desgastada que la otra y podemos notar que claramente todo esta muy sucio, eso quiere decir que las pastillas están contaminadas, siendo responsable también del mal frenado que tenía la bicicleta!, ahora procedemos a ubicar el tornillo que sujeta nuestras pastillas y aflojarlo para retirarlas.

Localizado el tornillo es momento de retirarlo para lo cual usaremos la llave L 3mm para retirarlo y tener acceso a las pastillas las cuales fuera se ven de esta manera y lastimosamente estaban en estas terribles condiciones.

Esto ocurre cuando el caliper queda mal centrado o frenando desgastando la pastilla de esta manera y la única solución en este caso debido al mal estado de esta pastilla es usar otra con un desgaste mas uniforme pero antes de ponerla tenemos que seguir el siguiente proceso para que funcionen de manera correcta y recuperen su agarre al disco y nos brinden de nuevo seguridad al frenar.

Primero tenemos que ligar las pastillas hasta que cambien el color negro por este gris.

Luego de eso para retirar toda la suciedad tendremos que usar alcohol, si tenemos alcohol isopropilico es mucho mejor, aun podemos notar un desgaste irregular en la pastilla que tuvimos que utilizar pero esta está en mejores condiciones que la retiramos.

Al tener la pastilla cubierta de alcohol tenemos que encenderlo con un encendedor o fósforos, dirás para qué?

Al encender el alcohol este se va a consumir y consigo va a quemar todo resto de suciedad que aún queda en la pastilla, causando el mismo efecto de limpiar las bujías y luego quemarlas para retirar toda la suciedad que aun puedan tener.

El proceso se hace en las dos pastillas para asegurar que estén totalmente limpias para proseguir con el armado luego dejamos secar un poco mas y ya podremos montar nuevamente las pastillas en su caliper.

Montamos las pastillas en su base, que sirve de sostén y mata ruidos, esta base mantiene una presión entre la pastilla y el piston de frenado además de sujetarlas al caliper

Ubicamos el tornillo que sujeta las pastillas y lo apretamos nuevamente con nuestra llave L de 3mm

Con esta parte lista estamos a punto de pasar al siguiente nivel que es montar el caliper en su base y centrar para lograr un desgaste correcto.

Una vez puesto en su base es hora de lo mas complejo y tardío asegurarnos de dejar bien centrado el caliper ajustarlo y graduar los frenos para no dejarlos largos ni muy cortos y el proceso se va llevando acabo mirando por la parte delantera donde como puedes ver se aprecia muy bien como esta centrado el caliper con el disco de freno.

Una vez logramos dejarlo lo mas centrado posible tenemos que graduar el piston trasero para que la pastilla esté más cerca del disco, me gusta dejar las pastillas con la tolerancia mínima entre el disco con la finalidad de asegurar un mejor frenado, como pueden apreciar en la foto anterior el espacio es mínimo sin embargo este no queda frenando, podemos decir que el espacio es justo y muy preciso para terminar tenemos que tensar la guaya de frenos que como pueden observar perdió su presión.

Luego de esto recomiendo rociar alcohol también al disco para eliminar cualquier suciedad que este también pueda tener, solo rociarlo y dejarlo secar y listo! es hora de salir a probar los frenos !

Cabe destacar que no soy un experto estoy iniciando en la mecánica de bicicletas y si parece muy sencilla pero como todo tiene su grado de complejidad, el objetivo se logro tenemos nuevamente un freno trasero funcional
mi compañero de rutas esta nuevamente feliz de tener seguridad al frenar con la rueda trasera debido a que en la pista se volvía una total locura el no tener ese recurso tan necesario bien graduado!
