As human beings, we encounter various situations and experiences that helps us to draw lessons from them either good or bad. However, what makes us stand out against whatever experiences we have had both in the past or in the present is that, we should have important lessons to draw out from such situations.

Honestly, lessons can be drawn from different perspectives, it could be from your career, education, parents, children, home and so on. There are lessons I have learnt so far in my life just by living with my parents and there are some I want to incorporate into how I live my life while there are others I would love to work on and be a better person than they were. 

My parents lived a fulfilled life of love, responsibility and built a family that is solidly Christian base and one that preaches unity and love amongst everyone. These I would definitely incorporate in building my home but one aspect that I would love to build more on is in the area of being industrious and ambitious.

In our contemporary world things are changing, the life in 2025 is different from what you would experience in the 1990s, for instance, people seemed satisfied with whatever job they had back then and somehow it sustained the kind of lifestyle they lived but somehow if you do not dabble into multiple sources of income you would be left stranded and not be able to afford a particular lifestyle.

Growing up, I knew my grandfather to be a potential business man that had many businesses in different areas like selling of spare parts, cocoa farming and selling, building of house and renting them out etc. My grandparents had different sources of income that made him wealthy. But my dad did not tow this path at all, as he only settled for a government job till he retired, this was sustainable for the family but back then, they had the opportunity to get loans and make investments. Those days that lands were sold for #20000- #100000, unlike now where you need at least 2million naira for something good, I believe if it was me then, I would have a couple of them by now. 


So now, my lesson is to always take opportunities when they occur and explore the situation of things. There are several ways to make incomes and cater for extra needs, side hustles like investing in mutual funds, savings, shares with interests that pays monthly or quarterly, social media content creating, marketing etc. Focusing on a particular career is great but when you dabble, you would be comfortable with your income. If it's a good side hustle, you might not even need to touch your monthly salary, and just save it up in a good investment plan. 

The major idea is to earn a lot of money because without it, life can be worthless and uncomfortable.
