Why are humans so quick to think the worst about others?

Some times I just can not help but wonder why humans are so quick to the worst about their fellow humans. And what amazes me is how we easily think the worst of people in the event of an unknown occurrence. For example, making a promise to do something for someone and then fail to do it. Sometimes, they don't even bother to ask what happened or think of good reason for the failure to keep the promise. Most at times, people will think the worst of the person who failed to keep his/her promise calling them all sorts of names.

There are many instances people have had good explanations or excuses such as health issues, personal issues for failing to keep their word or do what they promised but never given the chance to explain. People are quick to judge and think the worst of others these days. Well, I can't really blame anyone these days. Humans have proven times without number that they can hardly be trusted these days. So, it becomes very difficult to think anything good when things don't go as planned.

But no matter what happens, there are always good people put there and we can just think the worst of everyone because of something another person did in the past. It's just like when I hear most women say "all men are the same" and not in a good way. This statement is used in the direction of the infidelity of men in relationships. I knowosr men can be unfaithful but to think that of an entire gender means a good minority who are different will also take the hit. They will also receive the cold treatment of the guilty ones.

It's just like they say in everything there are exceptions. There will always be exceptions to everything and as long are these exceptions exist and are out there, we can not just make general conclusions on issues. Else we will only end up judging and treating some genuinely good people wrong. See every person as a totally different and unique being. We must learn to forgive and forget even though it can be hard. We must learn to see the good in people. And above all, give people a chance and get to know them before making a judgment of them.
