The text of the book *How to Get 1,000 Followers on Steem* ("H2G1kFoS") is almost completely finalized. We are working out the final version by the end of this week.

We are doing great on this book. In fact there are only a few steps left to finish it. As soon as the editing is done, the main remaining tasks are to create the graphics and the book layout.

Around the same time as that, we will finalize [the front cover of the book](https://steemit.com/music/@heymattsokol/update-on-ebook-how-to-get-1000-followers-on-steem-32-book-cover-designs-and-an-updated-roadmap).

Then the book will be released.

There are some questions about how and where we will release it, and in what format. I will offer answers to those questions very soon, but not today. 😓😓

<h3>A Brief Note on Fundraising</h3>

Last week I said I would provide updates on fundraising. Here's the deal: 

We have more than enough funds to finish book 1 with what we've raised so far. Expenses have been lower than expected and the generosity of @sndbox and the Steem community has been more than enough to pay for it, and then some, so far.

All extra funds remain in the @musiciansguide account and will only be spent on project-related expenses. None of it will go to me.

For book 2 we may need to raise more money, but we'll address that soon. Rest assured that we have abundant financial resources available for the task at hand.

<h2>Follow-up to the Book</h2>

Do not forget that this is only the first of the two books we currently have planned for this project.

The second book will be an even larger, even more monumental project. It is called “The Musician’s Guide to Steemit.” This book will contain every piece of information you could ever hope for to succeed as a musician on Steemit in 2018.

<h3>A Note About The Release Schedule For Book Content</h3>

Up until now I have released new versions of the book as soon as they were ready.

I do realize now however that there is a certain downside to releasing editions so quickly. It is possible to “reveal your entire hand,” in other words to give away all of the information before the book is in a good form.

We are not going to release the entire text of the book again until the final product is complete. Instead, I will share a few of the final chapters as teasers between now and May 2.

You will be stunned by the quality of the May 2nd edition of the book. We have made incredible progress compared to the last draft, which was already pretty good. This is going to be an awesome book.

In conclusion and in summary: Next week the final text draft of the book will be finalized. The remainder of the work will be done a few weeks later, and the eBook comes out on May 2.
