***Ego [noun] the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.***

# Drawing *A Form* : Testing Identity and Ego

This “Ego” drawing (part 4 of 4) is a precursor to our next collaborative art project. During this initial stage each of us has drawn on *individual* canvases in an effort to explore a single theme or idea. The four drawings will later become a toolkit in assembling a logic for both our “Id” ([collaborative drawing](https://steemit.com/art/@hitheryon/collaborative-art-id-drawing-part-2-of-4)) and “Superego” ([mural installation.](https://steemit.com/art/@hitheryon/solo-exhibition-superego-ii-mural-milan-italy)) 

In this drawing, Michael builds a narrative of organic, flowing linework. Clusters of arrows playfully gravitate and orbit one another. In each of these hand drawings we’ve incorporate a new color palette of cyan, magenta, yellow and black (or CMYK.) In this composition, colors are used to highlight hidden forms and breaks in pattern.

In the next post, we’re going to outline how we use individual drawings to build collaborative wall paintings.
