A well-thought-out change is necessary for me as a person and even though I obviously want to give the middlefinger to some people over at my work for instance, I've come to realize that it would benefit me more in the long haul, if I where able to change some things. I can not stand some of the things that is happening at work, but I can't afford to be drawn into the shitstorm. I need to avoid certain things like the plague as it affects my mental health in a very negative way otherwise.

Going into the year 2022, I knew I was going to do things differently than before. I had to change my approach, both in real life and on Hive.

While the above link will take you to my personal plans for Hive and LeoFinance in 2022, I figured I would take a look at my personal results during the first two weeks of January as well, and that is the reason for this post. I will look at the type of content I share, rewards, voters and the end goal for this post is simply just to see if I can see some sort of connection. If I can *"crack the code"* so to speak.

I know I said the first two weeks, but I'll cover the first 19 days instead. Everything I've done in January 2022. I have published a total of 13 gaming posts in [Hive-Gaming](https://hive.blog/trending/hive-140217) and 7 other posts.

- 3 of those are traffic reports for leofinance
- 1 is about a new crypto currency
- 1 is about traffic flow
- 2 are personal stuff

Out of my **13** gaming posts, I have been fortunate enough to receive support from ocdb & hivegc twice. That's 11 posts that generates rewards mostly from the auto-votes I get, with a few upvotes here and there on top of that. Out of the **3** traffic reports I have published for LeoFinance, I was grateful to receive support on **two** of these. The other 4 posts, which I have published on LeoFinance as well, I received votes from @leo.voter on **all** four posts.

That being said, it's rather easy to see that my gaming content doesn't yield much in terms of rewards compared to the others posts I have published.

I have probably spent something like 1 hour on each of the posts I have published, except for the gaming content. Those posts are something I probably have spent roughly 5-20 minutes on, each.

However, for me to actually publish gaming content, I need to play a game. So, I need to record a video when I play the game. That's step 1. The next step is to upload the video to YouTube in my case, which takes anything between 30 to 90 minutes for each video. The 5-20 minutes I spend on the actual post, that comes **on top** of the 30 to 90 minutes..

That being said, the videos are also roughly 60 minutes long, which means that I have played the game for ~60 minutes even before I upload the video.

Let's break down this even more:

- I can't play the game for less than ~60 minutes if I want a video that is ~60 minutes long.
- I can't change the time it takes to upload the ~60 minute long video.
- I could potentially decrease the time it takes to actually publish the post.

I don't bother much about spending 5-20 minutes on a post though, especially not when I have spent roughly 2 hours just to play the game and upload the video.

Long story short, I **waste** time and miss out on rewards by sharing gaming content instead of other types of content. At least judging by this. However, I am **not** willing to give up on the gaming content I publish, because I love to play video games. Also, there's still a decent chance of getting some extra support from ocdb, hivegc or other gaming enthusiasts.

- **In fact, hivegc and ocdb voted for ~15% of my content!**

That's 15 posts out of 100. That would be 100 hours of gameplay for me, and another 100 hours to upload the content.. But still. There's a good chance of being rewarded for your efforts!


So, even though LeoFinance seems to be paying off the most for me, so far, I won't stop my journey. I know what I want to do and I will continue to do it. I will build, grow and contribute more and more.
