 Good morning all warriors in splinterlands lovers across the world. How are you doing over there? Before I go straight to the point, I will like to talk about the recent season; though I'm still managing the small cards I have in my modern format, I am sure I will come out strong very soon, it is a matter of time. Using level 1 or two summoners and monsters to play in splinterlands is not really my thing. I like playing with level 4 and above. The last season was really awesome. Without renting SPS from splinterlands market, I got more than 50,000 merits. I believe with more dedication and commitment, I will earn more of it.
**Power up small hive again**
Since it is part of the criteria for upvoting, I powered up 10 hive today. I believe splinterlands just want to make sure hive grows very well and also every splinterlands player. It is still my hive, and I believe they want every splinterlands player to grow, including myself.
**Overcoming Gertrude Chompsbury is Tough** Overcoming \*\*Gertrude Chompsbury requires powerful cards and techniques. For a week now I have seen battling with Gertrude, and I cannot defeat the monster. Gertrude Chompsbury has 55 health, 8 melee and piercing ability. The ability was very astonishing, and contributed to my defeat. Because of this **Gertrude Chompsbury**I cannot proceed to the next chapter.
**Losing Brawl Battles due to some factors**
There were times I thought that those battles that were fled were a result of network and time. My thought was that the network was bad, that was the reason some battles were being fled. Because it happened to me in ranked battles some times, when the network is bad when I was selecting or submitting the battle, I lose the battle. I have been defeated sometimes due to a bad network.
I also believe that the player did not submit the battle on time. When the time given for a battle elapses, the player loses that particular battle. It happened to me sometime ago when I did not make a decision in a stipulated time. There was a day I totally forgot I was playing splinterlands when my friend called me. The call ended after 10 minutes of which I was about to select the monsters and a summoner when the call came. My thought was that a Brawl battle is being fled due to network failure and timing; I never knew there are more to it. 2 days a ago when I played another **fray** different from the one I have being playing, I realized the following things: _No availability of a Summoner_ When I wanted to play my brawl, I entered a battle, only to discover that there was no summoner. The only option I had was to flee. I discovered I cannot avoid being fled because there was no summoner to use. I waited for 30 seconds to think what I could do to avoid losing the battle. I was thinking there would be an option for me because it was the first time it happened to me; there was no way. In the end, I lost the battle and it was really painful.
_Choosing Fray you don't have the monsters and summoners_ This is one of the biggest mistakes one can make in Brawl battles! If care is not taken, if a player does not have monsters and summoners for a fray he/she chooses to play, he/she can lose 3 out of 5 battles. I lost 3 out of 6 Brawl battles I played of which I have some monsters and summoners. If I don't have monsters and summoners for it at all, I might lose 5 out of 6. In these brawl battles I lost 3 due to lack of monsters and summoners. if I did not have monsters and summoners at all, I might lose more than that. The issue was that I wasn't the one that selected the fray for myself, it was selected by the leader in my Guild.
**How To Avoid Being Fled in Brawl Battles** Avoiding being fled is very simple, you have to: Chose the fray you have monsters and summoners to play: for me I I like playing fray with Chaos legion pack, rebellion and untamed. This is because I have majority of those cards in my collections; though it is not that I did it have the rest, but I have those I mentioned above more. This is the reason I used to select Chao legion fray. Therefore, the best thing to avoid being fled is to choose the fray you have the monsters and summoners.
_Always play your battles at stipulated time_ The prep stage is a stage you need to pick a fray you want to play; once a player did not select his/her fray at stipulated time, such a player will definitely not participate in the brawl: He/She has to wait for next fray. And if a player choose a gray he/she want to play, and he forget to enter the battles before the time given expire, all his/her battles would be fled. Therefore, always play your battles before the time givem expires.
_Communicate with other members in the chat box if you are new_ Everyone in the brawl will seen your chat and reply you if you need any help. It is a good avenue to get along with your Guild members and learn from them.
_Buy packs you want to play_
Conclave Arcana, Riftwatchers, Rebellion and Chaos legion have major fray. If you have 90% cards from all these fray I mentioned above, you can play majority of the fray. Most importantly, buy packs you like to play!

This is one of my recent Brawl battles, I was paired up with this player that used the same summoner like me. I am still shocked that my opponent summoner gave viod ability to four friendly monsters while mine only gave 1. He used level 2 gold summoner and I used level 2 gold summoner; I am still wondering how it gave 4 void ability and why mine only gave one. This simply means that if all my monsters were magic attack monsters, I wouldn't have won the battle. You could see that my two magic monsters did not have effect when attacking opponent’s monsters with void ability.
At last round of the battle when I was left with **Krash Wanderford** with magic ability with the help of a weapon training monster called \*\*Moxian Rebel, and 7 health, I wouldn't have won the battle. If it was a melee or magic monster that was left in my opponent's lineup, I would have been defeated. It was because the only battle that was left in my opponent's lineup was a ranged monster called **Portly Cannoneer**. A ranged monster without close ranged ability could not attack in the first position. If it was a battle that ranged monsters can attacked in the first position, I would have lost the battle.
