Life offers us opportunities, but you have the right to make your own decision. This is the reason some people have ambition to become what they are passionate about. There is no discipline that is not good since you are not a criminal. 
I had friends that wanted to become military in life, and they tried their best to become one of them. 
I asked one of them, what motivated you to try all possible best to become an army? He said, “Since I was a kid, whenever I saw them on the road, I had a passion for it. Sometimes, we might be passionate about something without a genuine reason why we are so passionate about it. I was so passionate about this force to the extent that I was interested in watching any war movie.”
Since then, I began to tell my father that I wanted to join the army, and immediately I finished my basic school. I was enrolled in one of the army secondary schools in my country. 
My first year was so hectic because their programs were too much for me but what kept me going was the passion I had before I joined the school.” - Charles James.

IF I WERE TO JOIN A FORCE, WHICH ONE WOULD I JOIN?
This is a fantastic question. In my own opinion, I don't like force at all. I never thought of becoming a force man for one day until I saw this question today. I began to think about this question and the reason I should join. 
I would like to join the Army because right now my country needs security like never before. 

WHY WOULD I JOIN THE ARMY?
One of the biggest problems in my country is that there is no peace. You can just wake and hear that herdsman killed more than 20 farmers. This is what is happening in the northern part of the country. Infact, this is happening all the time but the government doesn't want to cause uproar in the country. Therefore, they tend not to broadcast such cases.
The Secondary schools in some parts of the state are not resumed right now which ought not. The reason was that boko haram wrote a letter to the chief security of the state that they are coming to the state. This bad news made the commissioner of education extend the resumption date because they can just enter any school and start shooting. 
There are cases like that of which these sects of people entered school, church and mosque shoot. The one that happened a few months ago where unknown gunmen entered church and killed more than 30 people, and many were injured. 
In the northern state where they produced 70% of agricultural products to all Nigeria has become terror for farmers. According to the news, there are many farmers that Fulani herdsmen had killed which make the majority of farmers to farm in those states.  
Right now, there is a famine in the state, the agricultural products are very expensive right now. I went to buy yam in the market a few days ago. I bought one yam at the rate of $2 in conversion to dollars, of which before then I can use the same amount to buy 2-3 yams. 
Right now, there is a lower supply and higher demand for farm products in my country. This also increased the rate of stealing food in my country. There are cases where some people went to the market to steal food stuffs; after thorough investigation, they discovered that some of them did not even have anything to eat at home.

WHAT WOULD I PLAN TO BRING TO THE ARMY?
Tightening up the security will be my concern; we lack a system where you can see the recent happening in our environment. Infact, there are cases that the thieves have been robbing banks for 6 hours and yet there were no security personnel to help. 
There is a need to advance in technology so that before any scene happens, they can curb it. I do watch American movies where they detect some incident before it happens or when happening.
Though, I believe there is a department but it is not functioning as it supposed to be. So, if I am fortunate to be in the army, I will make sure to use technology to strengthen the security.
