1.5 years ago, the first entry appeared on this account. It was a few months after the outbreak of war. We launched the initiative in the face of weakening sentiment. People were a bit tired and it was clear that it was going to get worse with time. Hence the idea to use Hive for fundraising. And it was a pretty good idea, as the first parcel was worth more than PLN 4,000. Anton took it to Kharkiv on 26 July 2022. The next support, worth PLN 2,400, went in March 2023. And that's where it ended. From the end of March to the present day we have collected 91 HBD and 20 HIVE, but the 20 HIVE have been converted to HBD and at the moment there are almost 100 HBD in Savings.

Currently, the main activity of Hive Aid is conversational Polish lessons for Ukrainian refugees. They have been going on for 74 weeks now. Basically without any breaks. There are currently a dozen or so participants. With an average of only 3 lessons per week. This means that most of the blocks in our timetable are free. In this situation, it is possible to think about extending the formula and inviting all foreigners living in Krakow to participate. The changes will certainly not be implemented until next year, but the payment of RCRT tokens for attending lessons has been on hold for a few weeks now.

In addition to helping Ukrainians, Hive Aid also supports the integration of Hive into the Kingdom Without Limit in Krakow. Firstly, accounts of new people appearing in the Kingdom are created from the @hive.aid account. Secondly, HP is used to delegate RCs (currently 725.00b RCs delegated to 73 accounts). Thirdly, RCRT tokens accumulated in the account are allocated to the 'suspended tea' and the 'starter pack' for new users who have installed the Hive Keychain or Ecency app.

The immediate reason for setting up Hive Aid was the war. However, from the outset I assumed it would be more than just a fundraising account for Ukraine. The Polish lessons proved to be an extremely valuable activity. After 1.5 years, however, it would be good to take the next steps and tackle helping on a wider scale. We think that the best direction is to use the potential of the Kingdom and help foreigners to integrate. Another field of action could be to promote Hive as a kind of catalyst for change for the better. Quite a lot of new ideas might emerge when we finally manage to create some kind of homeschooling support programme in our place.
