One of the challenges you face as a writer is the fear of writer's block. Sometimes I just stare at my phone without having anything to type. A blank page can just feel like a barrier, marking every attempt of you typing a word or putting words together to make meaning. But what I've observed over the years is that I've stumbled upon some quirky things and how to get inspiration.

Sometimes when I explain this writer's block, I just pretend to be broke and try to reach out to people around me to ask for some little favour or help or support. And most of the time what I get back is not kindness.

 It's a flood of excuses, stories, cook-up wants, memories, connections. And all these experiences spark my creativity. I make it direct back to life. I know these little tricks might be funny, but they started almost by accident.

But one day I knew I was feeling stuck, and I wanted an inspiration to put down something. So, I just jokingly messaged a friend of mine who was staying at home the time to help me for a month or two for a small money for my transport then I got this from him I wasn't expecting much but as usual what I got was an excuse or a cook-up story.

 My friend laughed and reminded me of how he had spent his last card, his last money on some other things.

So what I've learned from this is simple that generosity can be a two-way street and is a lifeline not just for others but also to yourself too anything you give freely other is your money your time your words your encouragement or just a helping hand you might be planting seed that might just help you in the future. 


When I try to reach out to those that I've helped I'm not just testing whether they are able to give or not I'm trying to discover the connection that holds us together what do those people how do those people really think about me in their hearts and how they carried how they prioritized me in their life.

Each response that I get gives me a reminder that we are never alone but here is the fact here you can't always perform anything up being generous to others. Sart by being generous to yourself. Making quality friends means you have to live a quality life. So you have to take that quiet moment while writing. First of all, you are permitted to write those messy drafts. Or just forgive yourself for not being perfect.

So when you learn to nurture and grow your own spirit, you already have more to give. And when you give abundantly, you are opening the door to receive. So those stories, those moments of gratitude you get from others, they are all for your soul, for your craft. So just try to be generous with your time, your love, your energy. Give a happy hand to a friend. Share a laugh. Encourage someone.

And you will be surprised when you are struck. Don't be afraid also to lean on those or call for help from those who you have also helped. Then you will be amazed at the stories they share. The ones that prioritize you in their hearts. And the ones that don't or never saw your good as anything. So generosity doesn't break writer's block. It also gives a life full of that connection, that meaning.
