Mooloolaba Holiday Excitement

I recently went on holiday over the new year period with my family to Mooloolaba, I have been there many times before and will go back again at the end of this year.

Beaches:

Mooloolaba boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, with soft golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The most popular is Mooloolaba Beach, which stretches for over a kilometer and is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing. You can also take a walk or jog along the boardwalk that runs parallel to the beach, taking in the stunning ocean views.

**(These photos of my wife and I were taken on a previous trip to Mooloolaba when we did the shark dive many years ago! Don't worry! These sharks were at the aquarium, not the beach...)**
 
Marine Life:

One of the highlights of Mooloolaba is the abundance of marine life, with the town being home to the largest aquarium in Queensland, the SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium. At the aquarium, you can see over 10,000 marine creatures, including sharks, stingrays, and turtles. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even go scuba diving with the sharks!

Outdoor Activities:

Mooloolaba offers a range of outdoor activities, including water sports, hiking, and cycling. The nearby Mooloolah River provides opportunities for kayaking and fishing, while the hinterland region offers hiking trails with stunning views. You can also hire a bike and cycle along the scenic coastal paths.  The kids loved playing on the beach playgrounds and going on the trampolines!

Food and Drink:

Mooloolaba is home to a vibrant food and drink scene, with many cafes, bars, and restaurants serving up delicious food and drinks. The seafood is a must-try, with the local prawns and fish being particularly tasty. You can also enjoy a drink at one of the beachfront bars, watching the sun go down over the ocean. Don't forget to have a BBQ by the pool back at your resort, as it is a healthy and affordable way to eat delicious food.

Accommodation:

Mooloolaba offers a range of accommodation options, from budget hostels to luxury resorts. The beachfront hotels and apartments are particularly popular, offering stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the beach.  Staying anywhere in the main Mooloolaba beach area between the river and the beach is only a short walk to everywhere, so you don't need beachfront accommodation, and the walk helps you burn of all the extra eating and drinking.
