I haven't had a game give me a sore mouse hand since I frantically clicked away playing <em>Diablo 3</em> for days. <em>Dungeon Hearts</em> gave me a sore hand, and for all the right reasons. 

The easiest way to describe this title is a combination between a match-3 puzzle game, tetris, dungeon crawler, and a rogue-like.

Your four heroes are at the left side of the screen. A monster on the right. Overlaid, are four tracks of something called the "fate stream" where coloured blocks and enemy attacks stream towards your characters. 

As you match coloured blocks, you clear the incoming enemy attacks and deal damage. Every hero is valuable in this fight, and you level them up at the end of each stage by collecting power ups.

<em>Dungeon Hearts</em> was originally a mobile game, and it would no doubt be a better experience on a touch screen interface. The mouse (and the port of the game) make it a little bit untidy from a control perspective, but it isn't enough to ruin the game play experience. 

As you perish on your runs through the dungeon, you can xp which can be used at the in-game shop to purchase upgrades like extra damage, chances for special powers to recharge faster, and other interesting mechanics like slowing down the game play. 

Slowing down the game play lets you think much more tactically about the combat decisions you're making - and allows you to unleash brutal combos on enemies, by matching more than one colour at once.

This is a fantastic game, awesome for killing a few hours - and something that is perfect for what it was originally intended, as a mobile game - on the PC it requires careful attention, and a comfortable mouse!

Check it out if you get the chance, and don't mind a casual puzzle game with role playing elements and an excellent soundtrack.
