Vices and virtues

The last week has been an interesting one. I've been in and out of hospital; an otherwise healthy 29 year old man... and there's been turmoil between mother and son as a result.  Oh, and there was mothers day.  

She's the only parent I still have alive, and I was in hospital for the day.  I'm out now and 'fine' pending some further diagnostic testing next week. My health or my relationship with my mother isn't the reason for this post.

It belonged to my father... My dead father. That happened almost ten years ago and the vice has been disused since then.  Its an item that holds more sentimental than any other value and I don't even know if it was a treasured item. Its a vice.
