Seeing red - Bitcoin: a matter of perspective

You know the saying 'the glass is half full/empty' and you've probably used it at some point, to describe someone as either a pessimist or an optimist. And I was just thinking, you can kinda do the same thing with Bitcoin, at this moment.
It's a grim day, yes, STEEM is under 1 dollar, Bitcoin is floating around the $6,000 mark, which is less than ideal and people are freaking out.

Many are taking a break from Steemit, because with such lousy rewards, it's not wroth the trouble. And they have a point. It's pretty much up to you what you choose to do with your Steemit account, so I'm not going to pretend to tell you whether it's right or not. I'm as clueless as the rest of them.
But I look at a lot of Steemians, the ones who are still hanging around here and I see two very different types of people - the people who adhere to the 'buy the dip' philosophy and are considering buying some crypto now that the market is so low. Those are generally calm and prepared to wait it out. And then, there's the rest of them who are freaking out, obssessively checking Worldcoin or whatever website they use to track their favorite cryptos and panicking.
I'm not talking about holders and sellers here, because they are all hodling, but there's a big difference in attitude. There are those who shrug it off and say 'ah, it'll go up' and there are those who are getting anxious about it, internally screaming.
And I think one good thing that comes out of this very red period is that you really get to see what kind of person one is, you watch how your favorite Steemians react to the dip and it will tell you a lot about them as people.

You know, seeing how they react in times of crisis and all that. Anyway, just trying to put a positive light on all the blood in the markets.

A friendly piece of advice:

I can see by your reputation, that  a lot of folks don't like how you've been interacting on the blockchain. You may want to change your behaviors. 
You're very new here, so perhaps people should cut you some slack, but try something different!
Here's one way: when you comment on someone's post, mention something specific about it, so that you can engage in a real conversation. 

Also, don't request someone's "mutual subscription". If they are interested in what you said, they'll organically follow you!

People who want to increase their steem power are happy for this dip in price.  Those who need to sell some steem or SBD will be less happy!

But SBD was intended to be a stable coin, and there is something that can be done when it dips below its $1 peg.  The witnesses vote to pay interest on SBD which then makes it attractive and its price goes back toward $1.  There is little that can be done when SBD is rising and we have seen it go to $13.  

So if I were buying, I might grab SBD now.  If this bear market continues, chances are that SBD will fair well and generate interest income.  If the buyer feels steem is at or near a bottom, one might then convert their SBD into steem, power that up, and enjoy the rise in steem when it happens.  By the way, steem power pays something like 6% interest and of course earns curation when voting.

You have a lot of SBD and you have not experienced a dip as bad as many other coins.  I wonder if you have a price of steem in mind that you might convert some of that SBD into?  If it hits its all time low of 10 cents again, and SBD stays near $1, then you will have the option to convert to steem, power it up, and become a dolphin. :)
