I am a person very much who loves to help everywhere I can, in fact I am at my most happy place when I am helping.

I love thinking of new ways to help people and make a real difference, so this is what today's entry into the writing Challenge 30 is about.

Instead of trying to change the world, as there are a whole lot of issues and things that need improvement and helping - what if we ALL chose one person at a time to help?

I know that in the grand scheme of things, we still need to help poverty stricken, refugees and places in crisis when and how we can, but something that we could aim to do on a personal level is help someone in need.

In the town that I live, there are a handful of homeless people.  My idea is fundraise for each of them who'd like a roof over their head and a chance at life off the streets. 

So what I would like to do is get enough money to pay the deposit and rent for them and one month's food and bills paid, so they can concentrate on getting on the welfare system and off the street, so they are able to get the help they need to live a 'normal' life.

Now I know that this won't be everyone's cup of tea, I don't my taxes paying for that blah blah blah...

But it could really make a difference to someone and change their lives for the better and if you could get a whole community involved, wow that would be really something, but don't stop there as there are plenty more people to help.

So this week I am researching landlords who might be open to this idea and who will accept housing benefits, and working out a suitable target to fundraise for.

I know it won't be me telling the chosen homeless person the good news and handing them the keys to their new home, but wow what a dream come true for them it would be.  

What Could You Do For Someone in your community?

Set up a Just Giving page for them and add to it as and when you can and ask your friends to do the same and perhaps do something to promote the cause, get the local press interested. Perhaps you might want to do this for a specific person in need in your area.
