Communication between two people or group of people is something that is bound to happen as long as we live, no wonder man is called a social being, hehe. I can never stay a day without reaching out to someone either through call, visit or chat, it's already a part of me. Something crazy happened to me last two months, which happened to be my birth month, I had a misunderstanding with a friend and that had made me felt like staying away from my phone for two days, no call, no chat but I still went to visit though.

That week there was a contest here on Hive, the Hive learners community to be precise saying if we can do without our phones for one week. Well, my plan was to actually not use my phone for the next one week starting from Monday but since my birthday was on the Thursday of that week, I had to change my mind because my Mum was asking questions that I was not ready to give answers to. 

In those two days that I was away from my phone I felt like something was missing and that was my steady engagement here on Hive. Prior to that day I had stayed away from my phone, I had been very active with my engagement and that made me miss so many people here and a few did try to reach out and that made me felt genuinely loved and I really do hope to reciprocate that love.

In essence, what I'm trying to say is I love interacting with people but not really chatting though. Yes chatting with people online has been great but it also has it's downsides also. Hive has been the social media platform where I have been active for the past eight months and I have noticed how much impact it has on me. For me I will say chatting has done me a lot of good but not really on the web 2.0 platforms (whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and others) but here on Hive (web 3.0 platform).

##### *EASY ACCESS TO INFORMATION*

Like I said, I've been very active on hive for the past eight months and ever since then I have been opportune to have read so many great articles from so many authors and it has been so educative for me. I got to travel around the world, knowing different people, there norms and their cultures, their likes and their dislikes, their beliefs and many more all from reading and viewing all of their amazing posts with nice photos and leaving a comment become more frequent for me. 

Being on hive has helped me to become a good reader, I have learned to be persistent all because of the engagement that goes on her on hive and I take that as chatting. When I discovered the engagement going on her on hive, I have always preferred it to any other social media platform because of the different benefits I get from it. Outside the rewards that might come from being active here on Hive, I've also been privileged to make really good friends here and I'm just so thankful to the ability I have for engaging/chatting. 

I have said so many things as relating to the benefits I derived from being an active chatter or engager here on Hive but there is also something that I have discovered that is not really good for me but I still find it hard to worry too much about it because I have preferred to look at just the positive side 😏.

When I became an active engager, I noticed I became more carefree about the time, once I'm on hive I totally lost track of time and that is not really good because most times I go late for events because I want to do something tangible here on Hive before I do something else 😂😂. I love meeting new people, I love learning new things and I love traveling and Hive has helped me do all of these things and that's why being active here in expense of not having time for other things doesn't feel so bad to me but I know it is 😢.

The quote above resonates well with me because I am experiencing something similar and that's why I don't feel too bad about the side effects of chatting / engaging here on Hive, although when it comes to other platforms I'm very conscious of how I spend my time there.
