es ist schon seit ein paar Tagen doch sehr still geworden auf meinem Blog, doch untätig war ich nicht. Die Zeit habe ich in den Smart gesteckt und der Ausgang ist noch weiter offen. Aber was ist denn alles passiert?

Es war uns von vorher ein klar, dass wir Arbeit und Liebe in das Auto stecken müssen. Doch die Ausmaße haben wir deutlich unterschätzt und der Klein hat einige Überraschungen für uns bereitgehalten. Die Abgasanlage war völlig kaputt und ein neuer musste her. Nun, es ist leider nicht so leicht, denn der Auspuff ist mit dem Kat eins. Somit wird dieses Teil sehr teuer, zum Glück gibt es einen Hersteller der diese Anlagen aufbereite und auch verkauft, somit konnten wir sparen.

The exhaust system was completely broken and a new one was needed. Well, it is unfortunately not so easy, because the exhaust is one with the catalytic converter. Thus, this part is very expensive, fortunately, there is a manufacturer who aufbereite these systems and also sells, so we could save.

 Jetzt konnten wir uns dem nächsten Problem zu wenden. Der Smart verbrauch zu viel Öl, und qualmt auch blau heraus. Damit wussten wir, er verbrennt Öl. Schnell fanden wir heraus, dass es über die Ansaugleitung passiert. Somit haben wir das Teillastventil gewechselt und die Leitung gereinigt. Doch es wurde nicht weniger, also haben wir den Turbolader aus gebaut und stellten fest, der ist völlig hin und voller Öl. Also kam ein neuer rein.

We quickly found out that it was happening through the intake line. So we changed the part load valve and cleaned the line. But it didn't get any less, so we took the turbocharger out and found it was completely shot and full of oil. So we put in a new one.

Nun wurde weniger Öl verbraucht als vorher, doch leider gab noch mehr Problem. Der Smart wurde nicht richtig warm. Das hieß, dass Thermostat defekt ist, auch diesen haben wir getauscht und auch entlüftet. Jetzt sind wir dem Ölverbrauch weiter auf der Spur und alle Leitung müssen überprüft werden. Die Drosselklappe wurde aus gebaut, gereinigt und auch einige Schläuche. Dann wollten wir auf eine weite Probefahrt aufbrechen, da geht der Anlasser nicht mehr, nur noch mit ein paar gezielt Schlägen sprang er an.

Then we wanted to go on a long test drive, there goes the starter no longer, only with a few targeted blows he started.

Somit brauchte ich eine Hebebühne zum Anlasser tauschen und eine Werkstatt kam für uns nicht in Frage. Somit machten wir einen Termin in einer Selbstschrauber Werkstatt klar und wollten auch gestern hin. Doch leider kamen wir nicht mehr so weit. Den durch Zündaussetzer ging die Kontrolllampe an und wir mussten anhalten. Ich habe das Steuergerät ausgelesen und siehe da, Zündaussetzer auf dem 1. Zylinder und die Lambdasonde vor dem Kat sind defekt. Somit wurden wir, von einem nach Hause geschleppt.

But unfortunately we did not get that far. The control lamp came on and we had to stop. I read out the control unit and lo and behold, misfiring on the 1st cylinder and the lambda sensor in front of the catalytic converter are defective. Thus we were, towed home from one.

Jetzt sind wir langsam verzweifelt, war es richtig dieses Auto zu kaufen oder haben wir uns über das Ohr hauen lassen. Zurück geben geht es nicht, den wir haben ein Bastlerfahrzeug gekauft. Somit bleibt die Frage, können wir den Smart noch retten und was wird uns das kosten? Aber da halte ich euch auf dem Laufenden, wie es mit unserem Smartprojekt weiter geht.
