Select a workout routine that's designed for your experience level. Seems simple right? Many people who are just getting started lifting still choose workout plans that are designed for experienced lifters and pro bodybuilders. You will get much faster results from a plan that suits your experience. If you're just starting out, find a beginner workout.
Think about your lifestyle and select a workout that fits. Don't try and fit a 5-6 day workout routine into your already busy lifestyle. You'll skip days, not recover properly and ultimately fail. You would have been better off with a workout plan that only requires 3 days in the gym. Think about how much time you can realistically put in working out.
Choose a workout routine you know you'll be able to stick with for the full duration. Most workout plans are designed for a set period. 8-10 weeks for example. You're not going to get the best results if you only follow the routine for 4-5 weeks. This is something you should definitely look out for in periodization routines as the workload often increases as you progress through the workout.

You should Be grateful for what you have ( I know it's  an overused statement, but it's so important).I have traveled far and wide, and the  I keep asking myself why I have a life that has given me the luxury of amazing travel experiences (not to mention a load of other luxuries many of us take for granted), while there are women out there who are treated as nothing more than baby-making machines and will never get a proper education or have any hope of becoming more. My mind is blown by the unfairness of that lottery system. It's hard to appreciate the things you've always had - so get out there and travel and see what things are like on the other side. You'll realize just how good you have it and maybe be inspired to do more with the gifts you take for granted everyday.

I pray God puts this in our remembrance daily. Amen

How we react to something is everything. Plans almost never go exactly how we anticipate or hope. Learning how to adapt in the face of that is the best tool you can cultivate. Find the positive side of any situation, no matter how far you have to reach. It's basically guaranteed happiness. **No good stories ever come from situations that go smoothly, nor do you learn anything from those situations**

I spent time designing a product, and it turned out to be the best among its competitors. The lesson I learnt is that Everything Worth Doing Takes Time. Despite the eternal desire to achieve massive wins overnight, no one has ever managed to do that. The reason is simple: Everything worth doing is neither easy nor fast. Therefore it is not worth expecting to become the best at what you do without having made a major sacrifice and taken a huge effort.

For years I have thought my happiness depended on others, until I edified myself with the word of God. I got to know I was responsible for my happiness,  No one else. If you're not happy, you're keeping yourself in a situation that doesn't suit you - whether it's your job, the people you surround yourself with, or the place you live. If you have the means, get out of there however you can, and move towards something that fills your soul. However long it takes you to find that, keep looking. Maybe even the act of looking and the anticipation of discovery is all you need, because you're never meant to settle for something.

I recently had friends who i taught were friends, but i have learnt that most Friends don't last forever. It's the harsh reality, you'll realize this one day, if not now, then, in the near future. Different people have different priorities. For some people, their partners are their priority but for others their career is the priority. Don't make your friend's priority, your priority. You have different tastes and choices. Don't just blindly follow. It only leads to  unhappiness and self doubt.
Do not listen to others. People love giving free advise which are of no use to us half of the time. Listen. Nod. But do what your heart says. BECAUSE YOUR HEART KNOWS WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU.

Am really glad you picked up a lesson from this situation. That's the difference between those who learn and those who complain.

For me, I learnt from experience to take care of people around me. I helped a lady who was looking for a place for her brother to stay, not knowing that I would need her help in the nearest future.

It is so unfortunate that taking care if people is a fading human trait day by day.

The world is a great place. We have beautiful countries, powerful leaders, exotic food, oldest mysteries, best adventures and wealthiest buildings. But what makes all this so great? you and me. We are forgetting this fact gradually. Any experience, any success, any materialistic possession can not replace people.

Everyone, including yourself is a very unique set of same ingredients. I learnt to look at those around me as another world, as human beings. You let them go or hold on, respect or teach lesson, share or fight with them, challenge or learn from…..understand them and connect with them. Tell your stories, listen to theirs, eat food together and walk down few roads. No matter how good or bad they are, they make your world.

I am sure that the last person on this planet won’t be the happiest one!

Live with people not machines. Because people sometimes go away, without any notice, and never come back.

Recently I started learning programming, motivated to play around with steemsql. It has not been that easy. But like you said, we can learn from our mistakes. Practice practice practice. Learning from fellow Steemians too everyday.

I have made up my mind to be of help to people around me because i was deprived of it when i needed it urgently. It was an unfortunate situation, but there was no one to help. 
So i will Spend more time listening to people and finding out how you can help them. Life is built on relationships. Not only will you be happier but you will also build a network to achieve more. I’m learning to apply this better and better and have been a student of it my whole life. It has meant even more since my dad passed away last year. As an introvert I found this harder but have realized life is easier when you help others make it easier! They then have your back too. More importantly is knowing you made them feel important.

Pretty cool. If you dont learn from mistakes then you never tried it.

I'm one of these guys that gets super intimitated by large chunks of text. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love books and reading in general, but sometimes I'm looking at this huge amount of sentences in an article and my head feels way too lazy.


But then I learned this lesson and it helped me a lot:

Just read one sentence at a time. See it as your personal small task: "Dude, you just got to read that sentence and you're done!"

You'll do it and think: "Hmm, that was easy - how about another one?"

And you'll go on and on.

Suddenly you'll find yourself at the bottom of it. Done.

That was easy, wasn't it?

I found that can I use this kind of approach in almost anything, not just reading.

If I have a lot of stuff to do, most of the time I just don't even bother starting with it. It's just so much!

But if I break all this work down into tiny little challenges and do them one by one - it doesn't seem that much anymore.

I have had recent experiences that depict that If you don’t feel like you fit in, it’s probably because you haven’t found like-minded people. - I’ve only recently come to terms with this. I’ve always felt a bit like the odd-man out; more interested in learning and hacking and getting better. The internet has shrunk the world and it is easier to connect to like-minded folk. Find people who are like you while also developing relationships with those who you aspire to be more like. Meanwhile, embrace your inner-weirdness as it is what makes you, YOU.

In my own experience, I've learnt to watch my desires. I found myself getting addicted to watching eating junks, and before you know it, I was getting fatter, but yet I was not still watching my desire to eat. The more I ate, the more I wanted to eat more. My desire was not getting satisfied, but rather was getting deeper and larger.  and that made me become fat. I had to do a lot of exercise for months  to get back into shape.

A strong desire to have something or to be with someone over some time creates an attachment towards that thing or that person (remember, we are what we think). This attachment causes us to take action.

But when that action does not lead to fulfillment of your desire, it creates anger, because the ego is hurt. This anger creates more attachment. Now you want that person or that material thing even more. Again, you will repeat the process and create more anger. This anger destroys your intelligence. And you indulge into processes that harm you, and your relationships with others, like drinking.

Most of the people realise this when it’s too late. If you are able to watch this process when it is happening to you, you will stop in time.

All desires are not bad. But you need to be detached.

So nice. Experience is surely the best teacher.
I realize that nobody needs to travel away to somewhere or visit someplace to achieve a life experience. All you need is just a simple opportunity.

I watched the movie “Ballerina” recently and I found out that ‘Passion’ is a so crucial element that make our life sparkles! It made me recall back the day I worked in a company that I found myself tedious every single moment. 8am in the morning get up of the bed, 9am sharp check into office, 12.30pm have my lunch, 5pm finish working and get home. And then, the second day repeat the whole process again.

So, I recently quit my job and start learning coding and programming. I always love playing game and I will imagine someday I have the ability to create my own game! So, THAT’s my ‘Passion’! Like the guy in the movie says “Why do you dance?” The answer is just simply “Is my dream.” Three words worth a thousand words!

Last but not least,if you are the guy who hasn’t found out your passion, just keep going! If you are the lucky one, just stay passionate!

Thank you for this opportunity. This happened a long time ago, but it still looks like yesterday. I am saying this at length because you are inclined in that area and you probably understand where i am coming from. One of the things I knew about myself was that I wanted to express my voice. Yet, I also knew that I was terrified to do so. Whenever I would open my mouth to speak, it sounded like a terrified little kid, the sound barely making its way through my throat and up out of my mouth.

At that same time, I had become fascinated by rap—particularly its poetic elements. I didn’t so much care about “being a rapper.” I was just enthralled with the word rhythms, the rhyme schemes, the stories and the double meanings. The art form felt like a word puzzle to me, and I loved it.

But I was so afraid to rap! I was deathly terrified of speaking out loud! What if someone heard me! What would they think of me! They would judge me, oh they would certainly judge me!

I would skip class, go to the library, and write raps in silence, my mouth moving to the rhythm of the words, nothing but a faint whisper coming out.

I wanted to express myself—that’s what interested me.

But I was so afraid to use my voice.

I didn’t want to be afraid anymore.

Slowly but surely, I started to rap out loud. My friends would say, “Cole, louder, we can’t hear you over the beat.” It felt like pulling teeth. It felt like someone was taunting me to jump off a mountain. It felt like the scariest thing in the entire world, to open my mouth and proclaim to the world, “This is what I think. This is what I feel. This is who I AM.”

Song. After song. After song. After song.

After about a year and a half of writing and trying to rap every single day, I decided I wanted to put together a project. I titled it “Writer’s Block.” The title held a double meaning for me: First, I thought I would never experience actual Writer’s Block because I would never run out of things to say; and two, all the things I was writing about were the things holding me back from being the artist and the person I knew I could be. I was literally rapping my way through all my emotional insecurities.

For the entire summer of my sophomore year of college, I locked myself in my bedroom closet, hooked up my microphone, fastened a bedsheet from the ceiling to hang down to insulate the sound, and I rapped. 4, 5, 6 hours a day, every day, for 3 months straight. Every single day, I would finish a new song, and every single night I would listen to it by myself, over and over again, sobbing. It felt like I was listening to the deepest part of me grow, and grow, and grow.

I was literally documenting what it felt like to overcome one of my deepest fears.

By the end of the summer, I finished “Writer’s Block” and shared it with all my friends.

I went back and listened to the first song I ever made, and I sounded so much younger. Scared. Hesitant.

And then I listened to my most recent song, and I heard a kid comfortable in who he is.

This, I learned, is how you grow. You take what you love, or something you’re interested in, and you combine it with what you are most afraid of.

Watch yourself grow, grow, grow.

5. Sometimes, You Can’t Please The People You Love The Most

About 4 days after I shared “Writer’s Block” with my friends and posted it on the Internet, I got a call from my dad.

“Take it down,” he said, his voice stern and furious.

“Take what down?” I asked. I was sitting in a coffee shop working on my next project, which was going to be a book. I had found my voice, and I felt ready to tackle something big!

“The music. We heard it. Take it down right now,” he said. In the background I could hear my mother, asking him to pass him the phone.

“Dad, I’m not taking down my music,” I said. I knew why he was upset—because a lot of my music was about the strained relationship I had with my family and parents. But I was so proud of what I had created. I wanted to share it, not suppress it.

“Fine,” he said. He hung up.

Later that afternoon, I went to buy groceries. Debit card was declined. He was the one funding my college education, and drained my bank account.

I walked around the city for the rest of the day. I couldn’t pay for my apartment, even if I got a job during the school year. I was stuck, and I knew that unless I relented and gave my parents what they wanted, my life would change drastically overnight.

No part of me wanted to do what I was being asked to do, which was deny everything I had just spent almost 2 years working on—but I did. I did as I was told, and my life went right on as if nothing had ever happened. I deleted all my music off the Internet, packed up all my music equipment, put it away in my closet, and didn’t touch it again for a very, very long time.

Ironically, it was a musical project titled “Writer’s Block” that actually ended up giving me writer’s block. For almost a year after that, I didn’t write anything. No stories. No blogs. No music. The only thing I could do was journal, and every journal seemed the same—”How am I supposed to express who I am when I have people telling me who I should or should not be?”

This is how I got into Graphic designing.  It was a quiet practice, and allowed me to release a lot of my anger and frustration without opening my mouth. But i thank God today that i have started my music and i am schooling in a music school.

Thats really the best thing. Being able to learn from them

Listening Is The Greatest Gift You Can Give Someone
I was on a canoe trip, I became very close friends with 12 other guys. We were all there for different reasons. One of the guys had been sent there instead of going to jail—he’d gotten caught with a few pounds of bud. Another guy was addicted to heroin. Another guy, Xanax and Vicodin. Another guy was suicidal. Etc.

It was an odd mix of guys, but within a few days we all realized that we were in this together. We had to rely on each other to pull our canoes out of the water, to set up camp every night, to make cook dinner, to clean up—and then as the stars appeared in the sky and the moon rose over the water, we would sit around a fire every night and talk. Just talk, and listen.

One day, one of the guys—whose father owned a massive oil company and was extremely rich—started talking to me about some of his problems. All I did was listen. I had so much going through my mind and I felt so out of place that I didn’t even want to talk—so I just listened. 10–15 minutes, he talked, and I just stayed quiet, looking him in the eyes, listening.

Later that night, when we were around the fire, this guy spoke up and said, “Today, Cole and I had a really great conversation, and I just want to say how much I appreciated that.”

I almost didn’t even recall our conversation, because I didn’t think of it as a conversation—I hadn’t said a word.

I realized, in that moment, how much people value being HEARD. It felt a conversation to him because I had listened. I didn’t pretend to listen—I actually heard him and acknowledged how he felt.

For the rest of the trip, I made an extreme effort to give every person I talked to that space to feel HEARD. It felt like the greatest gift I could possibly give, because all of us were struggling with something and that’s all we needed, was to be heard.

I recently graduated with a 2nd Class Honours (4.49) and i felt bad that i could have done better to get the A in the course that i got a B. I felt thati should have read harder and it kept depressing me. But after sometime, a friend of mine encouraged me and pointed out the positive sides of life and all it was all about, i decided to give God all the glory. There’s a big difference between learning from and dwelling on mistakes. Consider this: you either learn to fail or fail to learn. Making mistakes is a normal part of life. It’s how you approach them that matters. How to work around this? Try a different strategy of viewing your past by forgiving yourself for mistakes that you made. Reflect on them, learn from them, but don't hold on to them. This applies to your relationships, career, education, and other areas of your life in which you feel you didn’t achieve what you wanted or underperformed in some way. By changing how you relate to mistakes, you will give yourself more freedom to manage your future more successfully.

Yes buddy they are indeed important as they act as a kind of motivation to go ahead and will inspire you to be better at time passes by !

Oh yeah, sometimes it happens that you want to make a better photo and you make some effort to do it, but you get a marriage. I also have to learn and remodel :) Thanks @humanearl

Okay. On one experience that I have learnt from, I often find myself juggling too many things at the same time. Like, in one night, I am expected to finish a Psychopathology Case Report, prepare a report for class, console a friend online who's having some issue about her love life (rather, lack of it), and wake up at 3AM the next day to prep for a workshop.

Lesson: Find stronger coffee.

Real lesson: It's okay to say no.

We have to learn to say **NO**

Its good to see you hitting out at gym and I am sure this would bring your energy back and this is equally important in the journey of life.

Okay, what recently happened to me that I learnt from was the power of team work and studying hard.
I just finished my exams in school, and I was to defend a project with my project mates. The unfortunate thing is that one of us did not study hard, but because we were working as a team, he had some level of support from us, but yet he still lost some marks. 

From thus I learnt that, no matter how brilliant your ideas are, they are not likely to be realized without a great team. Success is all about execution. However, it is not possible unless you have right people in the right places. Your own knowledge, time and energy are never enough to build something worth being proud of. Great ideas require great teams.
Also, The contemporary world gathers the pace and it does not allow you to be slack. One day you decide to hit a pause, the next day you appear to be irrelevant. If you want to succeed, you should keep up the pace and always strive to meet the high standards of the modern life. Stay in constant learning mode and keep broadening your knowledge unless you are willing to be left behind. Knowledge is crucial. Do not stop studying. Thank you.

All problems that I face are things to learn from. I face them however unsolvable they seem with courage and might!
