Missy where should I start? I will skip our Preadolescence (9-12yrs) because it's not your fault that "common sense" was not yet common to you. You used to think that you were smart enough to outsmart common sense.

I want us to focus on our teens' days because that's when all your loose screws and gullibility started contributing to who we are today. Even though I love this crazy life you turned out to be I still wish it was a smooth ride for you.

Do you remember the day that Ms Snyman asked you to help carry her books to her desk and was telling you how she miss her teen days? Ms Smarty pants you laughed at her and gave her that look that says "Duh" like she just said something silly.

As if that was not dumb enough you replied with an attitude and say: *" sorry mam, but I can't wait to turn 25, make my own money, and my own rules"*.

Now, do you remember those days when mom will prepare dinner and you would frown and rant that food tested like card box? Let alone sometimes they had to scare you with a rod to finish your food and not to waste it? Well, little Missy's life hasn't even gotten better for you.

The hardship is real, the big guy "inflation" is now making you feast on a humble pie and he detects to you what to eat through your wallet. You should see how rare you even get to eat a nutrient balance home-cooked meal.

I don't think your system can even tell any difference between breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. You now appreciate watching the news- the slot you used to think is for old people. Yep, you now follow the latest economic news hoping you will wake up to some magic that will stop Rand (ZAR) from depreciating against the US dollar.

Well as if complaining about food was not enough your tiny mouth dared to also complain about your parents being too strict with house rules, remember that?

Silly you, well guess what? You are now a big baby to your landlord who detects you through tenants' rules and can kick your behind out to the street any day if you mess up.

At least for our parents, you were still their responsibility, and they were legally bound to host you until 18 or support you through school until 21. But the landlord means business ohh and it will just take a seven-day notice to evict you.

That boy you used to call "dodo bird" (-*an extinct bird popularly thought to be stupid*) and would call him Shrek and his girlfriend Fiona. Remember the whole class laughed at his speech when he said "*when he grows up he wants to be a businessman"* and Fiona was the only one who clapped hands for him? You made me remember those moments too. I remember thinking the news is for the old people but today, everyone watches the news to be updated on our fucking country. I also remembered not eating my meal because mommy refused to add meat to my food. I formed the senior when it comes to food to my siblings and would act as a junior when it comes to house chores. Adult life is not easy. We now have to carry all the country's problems on our shoulders in addition to our problems. 

As for food, elders would add all other staff to kids' plates but put a small piece of meat and we were instructed not to start eating that small meat first.🤭

When it comes to house chores, I also hated them, especially doing dishes.
