Hello, friends at #hive.
Yesterday I was reading @charjaim's [post](https://ecency.com/hive-131951/@hive-131951/estadisticas-comunitarias-junio) and it touched on a topic that made me laugh because I could relate: competitiveness.
I am a highly competitive woman. I read her post and didn't see myself on any list.
Of course, I shouldn't be on any, since I've only been on Hive for a month and a few days. However, the competitive soul inside me decided to appear on the July list!

On the one hand, there's nothing wrong with healthy competition. I'm competitive; it's what has kept me from stagnating and challenging myself every day to surpass my goals, to surpass what I achieved the day before, the story before, the cooking before, and so on.

Of course, I've also encouraged my children and husbands to be competitive. I've always told them that their greatest competition is themselves. For an artist, there is no greater competition than themselves.

We are our greatest allies, and we can be our greatest enemies.

My husband has told me that to be competitive, try to be the best in everything you do. Forever should be yours.

**Where's the problem?**

When competitiveness turns against you.
You have to know how far and with whom to compete, when to compete, and what's worth competing on.

Right now, since I don't see myself mentioned on the list, where so many acquaintances and people I care about appear, I felt like saying my name too.

But that's good for me because it keeps me writing and represents qualitative and quantitative benefits on my Hive profile.
There are times when I also feel the same need to appear on some other list, but upon closer analysis, I think it's better to control myself and not compete.
This self-control is zero with time and experience.
I can find a race track anywhere, and I'm ready to hit the ground running.
Luckily, I already have self-control.

On the other hand, I'm talking about competing without harming anyone. The competition is with myself. And if I were to compete against someone, I would always seek healthy, fair competition. Fair play.

**When you don't know how to lose.**

Friends, you have to know how to lose. You don't always win... unfortunately.
We have to look on the bright side of not winning the competition. When we don't win, we have the opportunity to analyze our actions and learn from our mistakes or shortcomings.

And note that I'm talking about when *we don't win*, not *when we lose*. Sometimes we don't lose. We can end up tied, or, as in literary contests, even if we don't win, we don't lose either.
Modesty is a great quality, and we should teach it to our children.
While it's good to win in good times, we also have to be aware that we won't always win.

Hola, amigos en #hive.
Ayer estuve leyendo el [post](https://ecency.com/hive-131951/@hive-131951/estadisticas-comunitarias-junio) de @charjaim y tocó un tema que me hizo reír, porque me sentí identificada: la competitividad.
Soy una mujer altamente competitiva. Leí su post y no me vi en ninguna lista.
Por supuesto que no debo aparecer en ninguna, ya que solo llevo un mes y días en Hive. Sin embargo, la competitiva convulsa que vive en mí, se propuso ¡aparecer en la lista de Julio!

Por un lado, no hay nada malo en una competencia sana. Soy competitiva es lo que me ha llevado a no estancarme y a cada día retarme a superar mis metas, a superar lo alcanzado en el día anterior, en el cuento anterior, en el cocinado anterior y etcétera. 

Por supuesto, también he alentado a mis hijos y maridos a que deben ser competitivos. Siempre les he dicho que la mayor competencia son ellos mismos. Para el artista no hay mayor competencia que él mismo. 
Nosotros somos nuestros mayores aliados y podemos ser nuestros mayores enemigos.

A mi esposo le ha dicho que hacer competitivo intenta ser lo mejor en todo lo que hagas. El por siempre debe ser tuyo.

**¿Dónde está el problema? **

Cuando la competitividad se vuelve en tu contra.
Tienes que saber hasta dónde y con quién competir cuándo competir y en qué vale la pena competir. 
Ahora mismo al no verme mencionada en la lista, donde aparecen tantos conocidos y personas que aprecio, sentí que quería decir mi nombre también. 
Pero eso es bueno para mí ya que me hace escribir y representa beneficios cualitativos y cuantitativos en mi perfil de Hive.
Hay ocasiones en que también siento la misma necesidad de parecer en alguna de otra lista sin embargo al analizarlo bien pienso que es mejor controlarme y no competir. 
Este auto control cero horas con el tiempo y las experiencias.
En cualquier lado encuentro una pista de carreras y yo lista para arrancar y correr. 
Por suerte, ya tengo autocontrol.

Por otro lado, hablo de competir pero sin dañar a nadie. La competencia es conmigo misma. Y en el caso que compita contra alguien, siempre buscaría la competencia sana, justa. El fair play.

**Cuando no sabes perder.**

Amigos, hay que saber perder. No siempre se gana... desgraciadamente. 
Hay que verle el lado bueno a no ganar la competencia. Cuando no ganamos, tenemos la oportunidad de analizar nuestras acciones y aprender de nuestros errores o deficiencias.

Y noten que hablo de cuando *no ganemos*, no *cuando perdemos*. Es que en ocasiones no perdemos. Podemos quedar empatados o, como en los concursos literarios, aunque no ganamos, tampoco perdemos.
La modestia es una gran cualidad y debemos enseñársela a nuestros hijos.
Si bien está bien ganar en las buenas, también hay que estar conscientes de que no siempre ganaremos.
