My Recent Game and India Chess Dominance

India's chess dominance continues as GM Aravindh Chithambaram won the 2025 Prague Chess Festival Masters. Last year, 18 year-old Gukesh Gukesh Dommaraju became the World Champion and Indian chess is not yet slowing down. This year, GM Praggnanandhaa won the Tata Steel Chess 2025 and GM Pranav Venkatesh also won the 2025 FIDE World Junior Championship U20. GM Aravindh's win adds another laurel to Indian Chess. He won the tournament beating top players Anish Giri, Wei Yi and Vincent Keymer.

After the moves 1. d4 Nf6 { A45 Indian Defense } 2. Bf4 g6 3. e3 Bg7 4. Nf3 O-O 5. c4 d6 6. Nc3 c5 7. h3 cxd4 8. exd4 Nbd7 9. Be2 Re8 10. O-O e5

Black's last move was a mistake. White could win a pawn with {11. dxe5 dxe5 12. Nxe5 Nxe5 13. Qxd8 Rxd8 14. Bxe5} but I missed it and continued with  11. Be3 e4 12. Nd2 Nb6 13. Rb1 d5

White's plan is to push his Queen side pawns aided by his Bishop on h2-b8 diagonal. 14. c5 Nbd7 15. b4 b6 16. Bf4 bxc5 17. bxc5

White has a passed c-pawn and control of the b-file, moves like Qa4, Bb5 come to mind but Black wants to prevent it with 17. ...Qa5 18. Qc2 Ba6

Black wants to exchange pieces but the move loses material 19. Nb3 Qa3 20. Bc1 Qb4 21. Bxa6 Qb8

White has won a piece and still has his other trump cards. I would just play carefully and not mess this up 22. Na5 Qc7 23. Nb3 Nh5 24. Be2 Nf4 25. Bxf4 Qxf4 26. Nxd5 Qf5 27. Nc7 { Black resigns. } 1-0
