Book readers usually rarely feel lonely or bored, because reading is an escape as well as enlightenment, "wrote Paul Theroux in his speech in Steve McCurry's Steve McCurry: On Reading Phaidon." This wisdom is sometimes seen. For me, there is something shining on the faces of people reading books. 

McCurry's new book, he says, is "my respect for this Kertész talent, its influence, and its genius".
In the hour when our imagination and our ability to associate are at the highest point, we no longer really read what is printed on paper but swim in the stream of impulses and inspiration that reaches us from what we read

For Kafka, books are like 'ax between the frozen seas within us'; to Carl Sagan, the book is 'proof that man is capable of his magic'; to James Baldwin, that is the way to change our destiny; for Neil Gaiman, the book is the vehicle to the deepest human truth; for the Polish Nobel Laureate Wisława Szymborska, the book is the forefront of a freedom.
While Galileo, he argues, "sees reading activity as a way to have superhuman powers

Theroux reveals his first experience as a reader. "Most readers can track their love of books from listening to fairy tales My dad reads Treasure Island for me and my siblings at bedtime, my mother reads us The Five Chinese Brothers, The Snipp, Snapp Snurr series, Sonny Elephant and many Dr. Seuss's book ... My interest in the wider world is stimulated from the beginning.
