Money, by definition is fungible. NFTs allow semi-fungibility too, for example with ERC1155 contracts you can implement unique item ID numbers with quantity. Such as minting one million gold pieces as NFTs that all have interchangeable value. In a way this turns non-fungible tokens back into fungible ones. Crypto is weird.

Yeah you can also fracture one NFT in a set into multiple fungible shards. Guess I should have mentioned that.
