If you've only recently started playing Splinterlands, you've probably received a few SPS from the current airdrop (if you don't know what we're talking about, [**read here first**](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@ifiwasfrank/splinterlands-beginners-guide-to-the-best-trading-card-game-on-blockchain)). For example, from the start of the airdrop I managed to collect about 100SPS which did not seem too few to me, until I discovered the purchase mechanism of the new packs, in pre-sale from Tuesday 18 October. To buy some **Chaos Legion packs**, in fact, you’ll need **VOUCHERs**, which are airdropped to those who stake Splintershards tokens. For more information on the VOUCHER distribution mechanism, I refer you to this [**excellent article**](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@libertycrypto27/chaos-legion-presale-best-purchase-cases-after-ama-i-migliori-casi-di-acquisto-eng-ita) by **@libertycrypto27**, but essentially to buy a pack, in addition to pay the set price of $4 (in DEC, Credits or SPS), you need a VOUCHER. With my 100SPS I receive 0.025 VOUCHER per day, you can do the math with how many you have staked. The fact is that, in order not to wait the 40 days that at this rate it would take to buy a pack, and considering that there are just over 30 left at the end of the pre-sale so in any case I would not make it, I opted with **two alternative methods**: the purchase of packs in the secondary markets and the purchase of VOUCHER.

But before illustrating the two roads, let’s ask ourself to ask: why participate in the pre-sale, when you can expect the normal sale? Well, because the first packs sold have more chances of receiving the **airdrop of the promo cards** that will be distributed after the first million packs sold! The Chaos Legion Booster Packs will be a total of **15 million**, so it will be necessary to see how many will remain after the pre-sale. It is true that, from what we read from the [**official press releases**](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-the-chaos-legion-is-coming), when the pre-sale will be over VOUCHERs should no longer be necessary to buy packs, but timing can be crucial in these cases.

# <center> PURCHASE ON SECONDARY MARKETS </center>
The first buyers of the packs did not fail to list some of their purchases on the secondary markets. Being a good connoisseur of the **Wax universe**, I immediately went to check on **AtomicHub** and, as I expected, I found several packs already on sale on this marketplace. Buying the Chaos Legion packs on this portal will not entitle you to participate in the promo card airdrop, but will allow you to secure one or two packs just in case. Consider that on AtomicHub the Untamed Booster Packs and AZMARE Dice Booster Packs (previous editions), sold out on Splinterlands' domestic market, currently sell for between $70 and $80, while you can currently take home a Chaos Legion for around $ 20. (yesterday they were a bit cheaper).

# <center> PURCHASE OF VOUCHERS </center>
If you want to buy pre-sale packs on the Splinterlands home market, and you don't have any, you'll need to purchase VOUCHERS. You can find them on [**hive-engine.com**](hive-engine.com) and [**tribaldex.com**](tribaldex.com), even if you have to pay attention to the price. Currently a single VOUCHER costs around $ 20, to which you must add the $ 4 to be paid on the market in one of the supported currencies (DEC, SPS and Credits). There is of course the possibility that the price, after the initial hype, will drop in the next few days of presale, but it might as well go up. If the purchase with VOUCHER is now the most expensive option, it should be considered that it is the only way that gives us the opportunity to participate in the future airdrop.

Chaos Legion is absolutely a watershed in the history of the game, which is likely to consecrate Splinterlands in the universe of play-to-earn. A critical consideration, however, is needed: this mechanism favors a lot (perhaps too much?) the older players at the expense of the new ones. I have been waiting for my first packs pre-sale for a quite long time since I signed up and, now that it has finally arrived, I realize that I will hardly be able to benefit from it. Rewarding players who first believed in the project is not only fair, but sacrosanct. The proportion of this prize, however, should not penalize newcomers too much. The game remains unquestionably beautiful, both for new players in the first leagues and for experts, and this can largely justify the increase in the value of the DEC and SPS tokens. In the future, however, I hope that more democratic mechanisms will be applied that will help to at least partially smooth out the gap that is being created between “new” and "old" players. And this is not meant to be a criticism at all, rather a suggestion.

Se avete iniziato a giocare a Splinterlands da non molto tempo, probabilmente avrete ricevuto pochi SPS dall’airdrop in corso (se non sapete di cosa stiamo parlando, [**leggete prima qui**](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@ifiwasfrank/splinterlands-la-guida-al-gioco-di-carte-collezionabili-su-hive)). Io, ad esempio, dall’inizio dell’airdrop sono riuscito a racimolare circa 100SPS che non mi sembravano poi pochi, fino a quando non ho scoperto il meccanismo di acquisto dei nuovissimi pack, in pre-sale da mertedì 18 ottobre. Per comprare qualche **pacchetto Chaos Legion**, infatti, sono necessari dei **VOUCHER**, che vengono a loro volta airdroppati a coloro che hanno in stake dei token Splintershards. Per un approfondimento sul meccanismo di distribuzione dei VOUCHER vi rimando a [**questo ottimo articolo**](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@libertycrypto27/chaos-legion-presale-best-purchase-cases-after-ama-i-migliori-casi-di-acquisto-eng-ita) di **@libertycrypto27**, ma in sostanza per acquistare un pack, oltre a pagare il prezzo stabilito di 4$ (in DEC, Credits o SPS), è necessario un voucher. Con i miei 100SPS ricevo 0.025 VOUCHER al giorno, fate voi il rapporto con quanti ne avete in stake. Fatto sta che, per non aspettare i 40 giorni che di questo passo ci vorrebbero per acquistare un pack, e considerando che ne sono rimasti poco più di 30 alla fine della prevendita quindi comunque non ce la farei, ho ripiegato con **due metodi alternativi**: l’acquisto dei pack nei market secondari e l’acquisto di VOUCHER. 
Ma prima di illustrare le due strade c’è da chiedersi: perché partecipare alla pre-sale, quando si può aspettare la vendita normale? Beh, perché i primi pack venduti hanno più chances di ricevere l’airdrop delle promo cards che verranno distribuite dopo il primo milione di pack venduti! I Chaos Legion Booster Packs saranno in totale 15 milioni, quindi bisognerà vedere quanti ne rimarranno dopo la pre-sale. Vero è che, da quanto si legge dai [**comunicati ufficiali**](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-the-chaos-legion-is-coming), quando la prevendita sarà finita non dovrebbero essere necessari i VOUCHER per acquistare i *packs*, ma il tempismo in questi casi può essere fondamentale.

# <center> ACQUISTO SUI MARKET SECONDARI </center>
I primi acquirenti dei pack non hanno mancato di listare un po’ dei propri acquisti sui market secondari. Essendo un buon conoscitore dell’universo **Wax**, sono andato subito a controllare su **AtomicHub** e, come mi aspettavo, ho trovato diversi pack già in vendita su questo marketplace. Comprare i Chaos Legion packs su questo portale non vi darà diritto a partecipare all’airdrop delle promo cards, ma vi permetterà di mettervi al sicuro uno o due pacchetti just in case. Considerate che su AtomicHub gli Untamed Booster Packs e gli AZMARE Dice Booster Pack (le edizioni precedenti), sold out sul mercato interno di Splinterlands, vengono attualmente venduti tra i $70 e gli $80, mentre attualmente potete portarvi a casa un Chaos Legion per circa $20 (ieri erano un po’ più economici).

# <center> ACQUISTO DEI VOUCHER </center>
Se volete invece acquistare dei pack in *pre-sale* sul mercato interno di Splinterlands, e non ne avete, dovrete acquistare dei VOUCHER. Potete trovarli su [**hive-engine.com**](hive-engine.com) e su [**tribaldex.com**](tribaldex.com), anche se occhio al prezzo. Attualmente il costo per singolo VOUCHER si aggira intorno ai $20, ai quali dovete sommare i $4 da pagare sul market in una delle valute supportate (DEC, SPS e Credits). C’è naturalmente la possibilità che il prezzo, dopo l’*hype* iniziale, scenda nei prossimi giorni di prevendita, ma non è scontato. Se ad ora l’acquisto con VOUCHER risulta l’opzione più onerosa, va considerato che è l’unica che ci da la possibilità di partecipare al futuro *airdrop*.

Chaos Legion è assolutamente uno spartiacque nella storia del gioco, che probabilmente consacrerà Splinterlands nell’universo dei play-to-earn. Una considerazione critica, però, è doverosa: questo meccanismo favorisce molto (forse troppo?) i giocatori più “anziani” a scapito dei nuovi. Aspettavo da molto la prima pre-sale di packs da quando mi sono iscritto e, ora che è finalmente arrivata, mi rendo conto che difficilmente potrò trarne grandi benefici. Premiare i giocatori che hanno creduto per primi nel progetto non è solo giusto, ma sacrosanto. La proporzione di questo premio, però, non dovrebbe penalizzare troppo i new comers. Il gioco rimane indiscutibilmente bello, sia per i nuovi giocatori che si trovano nelle prime leghe sia per gli esperti, e questo può giustificare in massima parte l’aumento nel valore dei token DEC e SPS. In futuro, però, spero che verranno applicati meccanismi più democratici che aiutino a livellare almeno in piccola parte il divario che si sta creando tra nuovi e “vecchi” giocatori. E questa non vuole affatto essere una critica, piuttosto un suggerimento.
