Simply put, what makes dusk beautiful? it all depends on how we define "a beauty", but I can only assume, maybe you often define "beautiful twilight" is a colorful twilight, where the color is very clear, eg orange or red, not a more calm color.

Keep in mind that what we see with our eye is only a fraction of the solar radiation the electromagnetic radiates. This radiation contains a very wide spectrum of wavelengths, but our eyes are only sensitive to certain parts that often called "wavelength-visible". Different colors relate to different wavelengths. That is, the beauty of twilight depends on what happens to the light coming into our eyes, some wavelength - it seems that it does not even reach the eye. Partially absorbed and filtered in the atmosphere.

In essence, there is a very beautiful twilight every night, but we can not always see the twilight beauty of the land. If you've ever been on a plane, maybe you've seen and felt the difference that occurs at dusk where the twilight does not look special from the ground, you just see the sky is reddish-white because we are still inside the "layer bounds" of the atmosphere because most particles are captured, such as dust and pollution. However, when the plane approaches the boundary layer then suddenly twilight looks brighter. I think this is just a matter of perspective.</div>
