When I was younger, I remember that I asked Santa for a chess board, since I was very interested in this game, although I had no idea how to play it, unexpectedly they gave it to me, and believe it or not I still have it, well it is missing some pieces, I don't know where they ended up.😆

The saddest thing of all is that I never learned, I only tried it once, but I don't know if it was because I was too young, or it wasn't my thing, the thing is that this game requires a lot of concentration, mental agility, this is for geniuses, or so they say, and well I never considered myself one, although I was always the dedicated child, I didn't reach this level.

Some time ago I heard about this series **LADY'S GAMBIT**, and in my quest to see new series, I wanted to get out of this one and watch it, to see what it was like.

*In this series we can see how a little girl, who loses her mother is, moved to an orphanage, there she meets the caretaker of the place, who sees her practice a game that catches her attention, **CHESS**, since then this girl, called **Beth Harmon**, becomes a prodigy, for this game, which makes her become one of the best players, at the time of the 60's*.

## Obsession or Passion for Winning 

What strikes me most about these kinds of stories is that they always relate alcohol or drugs as an incentive or trigger, so that these kinds of people can cope with playing and executing their games and creating their journey in them, they have to turn to a kind of addiction to cope with the pressure that comes with it all.

It's like their source of inspiration, they feel that without that, they are nothing, that they have to take it to be able to think clearly, all the tricks, steps, strategies to make a game, and win it.

Beth, she became obsessed with it, she just wanted to win, she wasn't used to losing, the girl was very cunning, you can't deny it, but she felt that with those pills she took, it helped her to be better, the best player of all.

## Chess is not for everyone

As I mentioned, I never learned to play chess, but it was partly because my interest was not as great as I thought, that's why I quit, but perhaps if I had insisted and sought to learn on my own, the story would be different, this kind of game helps a lot, besides being a great pastime, it is good for the mind.

There are people who say that this game is only for geniuses, I already mentioned it, and maybe yes, but not necessarily, I think that if there is real interest, anyone can learn, of course it will not be overnight, it will take time, at least this girl, she became so obsessed that she tried to read all the existing books on the subject, all to find the different strategies and thus win. 

It is here where they mention the different experts in this game, several professional masters, and even one of the greatest strategies known in this game, called the **Sicilian Defence**, which in this series Beth, with great intelligence, caution and skill applies it, thus considering herself the best player.

There is no doubt that **Anya Taylor-Joy (Beth Harmon)**, played a good role, personifying this young enthusiast, for this game, a simple girl, without class, without grace, but who was not going to let herself be trampled by anyone, guided by the words that her mother once told her, I think that's where her attitude came from, to want to do things her own way, without being intimidated or mistreated by anyone.

Of course, in the end, she had to receive and accept help from all those who believed and knew of her great talent, since there are moments in life when we cannot do it alone, and although sometimes it is hard to say it, we will always need a little help.

In this part I identify with her, I like to solve my things on my own, because when I think of asking for support, I know that it will cost me, not only to ask for it, but that person will sooner or later be able to get it from me, because sadly, that's how humanity is.

It was a good series, I'm not going to deny it, I don't consider it to be one of the best, but it's certainly worth watching, to pass the time, and for those who like this subject of chess, you can learn some tactics, and recognize some books, which are mentioned in it.

It is a mini-series of 7 chapters, almost an hour long, for some an inspiration, that if you set your mind to it, you can achieve it, but above all an interesting game, in which the most astute, audacious, can channel the movement of each piece, and execute the final thrust.

Cuando era más chica, recuerdo que le pedí a Santa una tabla de ajedrez, puesto que me llamaba mucho la atención ese juego, aunque no tenía idea de cómo se jugaba, inesperadamente me lo dieron, y aunque no lo crean aún lo conservo, bueno le faltan algunas piezas, no sé dónde fueron a parar.😆

Lo más triste de todo es que nunca aprendí, una sola vez lo intente, pero que va, no sé si fue porque estaba muy chica, o no era lo mío, la cuestión es que este juego requiere de mucha concentración, agilidad mental, esto es para genios, o así dicen, y bueno yo nunca me considere una, aunque siempre fui la niña aplicada, no llegue a este nivel.

Hace un tiempo escuché sobre esta serie **GAMBITO DE DAMA**, y en mi búsqueda por ver series nuevas, quise salir de esta y mirarla, a ver que tal era.

*En esta serie podemos ver como una pequeña niña, la cual pierde a su madre es, traslada a un orfanato, allí conoce al conserje del lugar, el cual lo ve practicar un juego que llama su atención, **EL AJEDREZ**, desde entonces esta chica, llamada **Beth Harmon**, se convierte en un prodigio, para este juego, lo que la hace convertirse en una de las mejores jugadoras, en la época de los años 60*.

## Obsesión o Pasión por ganar 

Lo que más me llama la atención de este tipo de historias, es que siempre relacionan el alcohol o las drogas, como un incentivo o detonante, para que este tipo de personas puedan afrontar ejercer  y ejecutar sus juegos, y crear su trayecto en los mismos, tienen que acudir a un tipo de adicción, para sobrellevar la presión que acarrea todo ello. 

Es como su fuente de inspiración, ellos sienten que sin eso, no son nada, que deben tomarlo para poder pensar con claridad, todos los trucos, pasos, estrategias para realizar un juego, y ganarlo.

Beth, se obsesionó con esto, ella solo que quería ganar, no estaba acostumbrada a perder, la chica era muy astuta, no se le puede negar, pero ella sentía que con esas pastillas que tomaba, la ayudaba a ser mejor, la mejor jugadora de entre todos.

## El Ajedrez no es para todos

Como les mencione, nunca aprendí a jugar ajedrez, pero en parte fue porque mi interés no era tan grande como yo pensaba, por eso lo deje, pero quizás si hubiera insistido y buscado aprender por mi cuenta, la historia sería otra, este tipo de juego ayudan mucho, aparte de ser un gran pasatiempo, es bueno para la mente.

Hay gente que dice que este juego es solo para genios, ya lo mencione, y quizás sí, pero no necesariamente, creo que si hay verdadero interés, cualquiera puede aprender, claro no será de la noche a la mañana, tomará su tiempo, por lo menos esta chica, se obsesionó tanto, que busco leer todos los libros existentes sobre el tema, todo para dar con las distintas estrategias y así ganar. 

Es aquí donde hacen mención de los distintos expertos en este juego, de varios maestros profesionales, e incluso una de las mayores estrategias conocidas en este juego, denominada la **Defensa Siciliana**, la cual en esta serie Beth, con gran inteligencia, cautela y habilidad la aplica, considerándose de esta forma la mejor jugadora.

No cabe duda que **Anya Taylor-Joy (Beth Harmon)**, realizo un buen papel, al personificar a esta joven entusiasta, por este juego, una chica sencilla, sin clase, sin gracia, pero que no se iba a dejar pisotear por nadie, guiándose, por las palabras que una vez su madre le dijo, creo que de allí su actitud, a querer hacer las cosas a su manera, sin dejarse intimidar ni maltratar por nadie.

Claro a la final, le toco recibir  y aceptar ayuda de todos aquellos que creían y sabían de su gran talento, puesto que hay momentos en la vida, en que solos no podemos, y aunque a veces nos cuesta decirlo, siempre vamos a necesitar un poco de ayuda.

En esta parte me identifico con ella, me gusta resolver mis cosas por mi cuenta, porque cuando pienso en pedir apoyo, sé que me va a costar, no solo pedirlo, sino que esa persona tarde o temprano me lo pueda sacar, porque tristemente, así es la humanidad. 

Fue una buena serie, no se los voy a negar, no considero que sea una de las mejores, pero sin duda vale la pena mirarla, para pasar el rato, y para quienes les gusta este tema del ajedrez, puede aprender algunas tácticas, y reconocer algunos libros, que mencionan en la misma.

Es una miniserie de 7 capítulos, de casi una hora, para algunos una inspiración, de que si te lo propones, lo puedes lograr, pero sobre todo de un interesante juego, en el que el más astuto, audaz, puede canalizar el movimiento de cada pieza, y ejecutar la estocada final.
